Revis likely to land in our division(Bucs)

They are taking a huge risk--not bad news. Even if they sign him, we can throw to our TEs, RBs, and #2 WR. We can run the ball. Even if he is healthy, they are giving away their future, spending their cap, on a position we can avoid.

there's a pretty interested market in him which means the price is shooting up.

the eagles are one of the teams looking at trading for him since they are cutting loose Asomugha today.

it's not like the bucs would be picking him up in FA and it's not like they would be giving up just a 6th for him or whatever.

it's also not like they would be paring him with eric wright (which would be an issue, imo) since they cut him already.

it's just not a big deal and it's more likely to have a nominal impact for what they would be giving up than anything.

that said, i figure given a choice between the bucs and the eagles, he'd choose the eagles.

the eagles are more likely to be competitors than the bucs and he wouldn't really have to move to go to philly. it's just a slightly longer commute. he loves attention and he just ain't gonna get it playing with the bucs.

if he has a choice, i doubt it's to go to tampa.

im confused at all the people who feel this isnt a big deal. revis is the best corner in the league. the bucs were a team that has a great front 7. if health revis shuts down his side of the field which will help the already talented mark barron. they have been making progress each year. atleast they have money to make these moves

    • Gotta wonder if Smitty's brain has turned to mush with how hard he played in the NFL
    • OK, fair enough--however, since my point was that drafting a QB in the top 10 is stupid, if you consider the players who were not drafted in the top 10 or those who WERE drafted in the top 10 and did not secure starting positions with the team that drafted them, you should see the point.  Is it smart to draft a QB in the top 10 when only 4 are still starting for the team that drafted them.  Next, consider that half of that number, 2, were drafted outside the first round.  Next, there are 4 (Goff, Mayfield, Jones, and Darnold) who are starting on other teams after busting.   That number could increase as Arizona seems ready to move on from Murray, Miami is not sold on Tua, and jacksonville is still waiting for Trevor to start looking elite.  Bryce?   So to answer your question, there are MANY more QBs in the NFL who have busted and become starters on other rosters, were drafted after day 1, or are still on the cusp than the four who have become elite.  I thought that point was made.
