Drayton Florence taking physical

Some thoughts from a Lions fan on another forum I post at:

He was one of our better CBs last year (which is really saying nothing at all) when he was able to be on the field. He missed time due to a broken arm, so at least he did't blow out a knee or anything.

I'd say he's a nice pickup as a depth guy in a decent secondary and wouldn't be horribad if he had to step in at starter for injury

For all we know, Florence might have a better season than either Jackson or Revis... FB is funny like that.

Would love to see it happen but it would require Jackson and Revis both getting hurt.

We should all be used to this by now. Other teams get better, Panthers content with 6-7 wins.

I'm calling it now: Rivera is G-O-N-E by week 6 next year.

    • It's definitely a historical issue at QB but to be perfectly blunt, we also don't do a good job of really developing almost any position if you look at the last decade or so. I tend to be on the side of that being far less a development issue than an evaluation deficiency.  I think we are in the situation at QB2/3 recently due to the overall roster being absolutely abhorrent and the QB classes being quite thin. It is harder to justify another Matt Corral(or several) when you can potentially get a real two deep contributor at other positions.  But, it was a lot of hard work to get to the point where are roster is so incredibly bad that luxury picks literally are not in our vocabulary.  This is the reaping what you sow portion of our history.
    • That is what I meant about our front office. They are like someone filling out a March Madness bracket based on preference of uniform colors and mascots. There's no rhyme of reason to some of these fugg'n mind numbing decisions they make.  They go all in on these flimsy-@ss prospects and are gun shy when it comes to more solid prospects.  It's literally maddening and the reason I stopped being so emotionally involved in this team. Heck the only reason I'm active on the board today is one, it's my day off and two, it's cut down time.
