Yep, its Kenny Vaccaro

Disagree on all counts

We wanted to draft Barrron last year....

We arguably have the weakest secondary on paper in the NFL

S is a spot where it is fairly easy for a player to start immediately

If you want an every down starter out of your first round pick....S is probably a better path than DT or WR.

Vaccaro makes sense based on who is projected to be there at the pick. I think he is the pick pending someone doesn't fall (and I am not talking DT)

If Star isn't gone within the first five, I think he'll be there.

I don't see him going in the top five.

But, who do you think is picking Star and why?

Arizona at 7. Would be a beast next to Dockett.in their 3-4 defense.

....but Vacarro won't even be the best safety from this draft. He will have a career more similar to fellow longhorn Michael Huff than Earl Thomas. bank on it.

Take a safety in the second either Cyprien, Thomas, Swearigner, or pray Rambo is in the 4th

Star isn't nearly big enough or disruptive enough to be a 3-4 tackle. I could see them taking him on value but I think he may bust in that scenario.

The Ngata comparisons with Star are absurd.

Most NFL scouts disagree.

Utah plays him at both nose tackle and defensive end, asking him to two-gap often. He will be coveted in both of those roles by NFL teams who run 3-4 defenses, although his combination of size, strength, and quickness make him a fit in almost any type of defensive system.

He's getting looks as a 3-4 DE. Not a 5tech. He's been at the top of Mayock's board at that position for months and a quick trip around the web will reveal people who are similarly persuaded.

He's not Ngata. Not even close.

Nope, he can do both NT and DE

For those that want Vaccarro over Cyprien, can I hear why. Not trying to be a smart a$$, but watching what's on the internet, Cyprien projects to be more Ed Reed/Brian Dawkins, and Vaccarro seems more well-rounded, but with less impact. Just curious....

    • i presented this in another thread. he throws better to the out breaking routes the wr run, but almost nothing to the inside. that is half the options on a wr route tree. How do you run an offense like that?  even the outbreaking routes he throws are moonballs, that allow the DBs to catch up unless the wr is wide open. he has to throw with a lot of anticipation becuase he doesnt have the arm strenght to get it there if he is a little late. thats probably why you see balls behind the wrs.
