kasay to retire today...as a panther.

One of my favorites all time. He makes my top 5 because of the type of stand up christian he is too. I didn't think he got the credit he was due as a field goal specialist. He was money under 45 yards guaranteed.

He gave us tons of memorable wins!!! People like to bring up the Superbowl and blame Kasey but under the John Fox football model Kasey was one of the reasons we made it that far.

He was the rock for many players.  He's a wonderful person and so deserved of retiring in style.  Thanks, John Kasay, for all the memories.  As Eisen likes to say, "Kickers are people too."

Edit:  His retirement speech was short and sweet.  Class all the way.  "I can't write 70,000 thank you notes" lol

I can't put it top 3. Let's see, in no particular order...

Armanti Edwards

Everette Brown

Jimmy Clausen

Eric Shelton

DeAngelo Williams contract

Jon Beason contract

Fua/McClain

Dwayne Jarrett

I'll give him a pass on Keary Colbert and Otah as both guys proved early on that they had the talent to be starters in the NFL if they had the want to.

The rest of the NFL saved Hurney from his ultimate fail. Word is that he was trying like hell to trade our next year's 1st rounder to trade up to take Clausen. Just think about it... he tried to trade what would end up being the #1 overall pick for Jimmy fugin Clausen. Just think about the situation we'd be in right now if that would've happened. Absolutely hopeless.

I would take Beasons contract off the list and put Jakes extension on. At the time of Beasons contract he was healthy and the second best ilb in the nfl, no way to know he would get seriously injured.

I agree with Jake's extension.  However, Beason wasn't healthy when he signed that contract.  His ankle was already jacked.

John Kasay was one of the greatest kickers/Panthers of all time and he will be in the ring of honor for sure.

I bet he could still kick better than anyone we have on the roster.

Thanks for everything John

    • I used to think Juan was a Zod alt. Agree he's a great poster.
    • Hawks said nah we good and sent him to the shadow realm aka the Wizards. Cold blooded. I mean they're 2-2 in a series with a young up and coming Knicks team largely through 34 year old CJ McCollum. Even if they ultimately lose the series at least they are there and have something to build on. I think Hornets fans are just beaten down and lack the objectivity to assess the situation. They think we are going to get so much worse if and when we finally change gears. Worse how? We've already been a lottery team for years now. We've already been looking to win our first playoff series in about a quarter century. We already can't get past the play in and in failing to do so we have completely embarrassed ourselves twice looking like we don't even belong. Honestly there is absolutely no excuse for a team like the Magic to be more competitive and successful than us in the playoffs. Absolutely disgusting. But that's just me. I was fuging lit when we got the Hornets back in Charlotte but that is old old news. It's time for these boys to get into a playoff series. Enough is enough. If they can't do it for 2026-27 then they need to make wholesale changes regardless.
    • Not one single pick that is asking me why we drafted a guy in the first place. It was a guy we needed and/or a guy that had certain traits making them stand out. Best of all, I feel everyone we drafted are capable of stepping onto the field this year and have a meaningful role (even Kuwatch on special teams). Obviously, nothing is guaranteed but I'm not seeing any huge flags on guys because they're risky projects or massive overreaches.
