Need to fence my backyard

have you considered one of those wired jobbies?  they have some negatives of course...don't stop anything from coming into your yard...but big positive that they don't obstruct your view and you can put it pretty much where ever you want.

Really? Do they come out and do estimate for free or do they need land survey?

They will come out and do a free estimate but before they can do the install you'll probably need to pull a platt map from the county. If you are going to stay well away from the property line you may not need it but since we went right to the lines we needed one. Didn't need a surveyor though, the map was enough for them to find the buried markers.

When I worked for Lowe's I did the exterior remodel/renovate/project estimates and I can tell you it's well worth the time. I retired from Lowe's and it was the last job I had with the company and it was probably the best. Here's what you get:

  • Estimate in writing of whichever fence design/material you want (chain link, wood, composite, iron, aluminum or vinyl)
  • The installers are licensed contractors, insured and have background checks
  • The price you get is turn-key and includes labor, delivery, materials- the whole deal
  • The fence will be placed usually within 24" of the property line on your side.
  • Any permits required are paid for by you, but included in the price and pulled by the installer.
  • 2-year labor warranty and the material warranty on the product. So if the fence falls over in 6 months because they forgot to concrete a post... call 'em, they'll be back.

Its a new house so I got the survey included in my closing package.  This shouldn't be an issue.

    • I'm honestly looking beyond DC at this point. He's too green and is making too many simple mistakes. I think he's gone after next year. I think the intention in LV was to use Mayer and Bowers similar to Gronk/Hernandez in NE. That's never really struck me as Carroll's MO though after watching him for years out here in Seattle.  He's talented enough and I think he just got lost behind the phenom that is Bowers because he couldn't develop in Carroll's system. I'm surprised Bowers is used as much as he is, though they really don't have anyone else. TE's don't really exist as focus receivers in Carroll's offense. I live in the PNW so I've been subjected to a lot of Seahawks football.  Coaches other utilize their TEs. We should too. Tremble is OK, but he's always been a project as a receiver. Again, all this is of we could get him at the right price. I wouldn't pay a lot because we need to spend on defense.
    • David. Hey, money talks.....it has been acknowledged that Tepper isn't shy on spending. He's had the NFL equivalents of used car salesman after used car salesman line up to grift him of a big chunk. Canales is one of them.  Until that changes, it's gonna be tough to build anything to last.
    • Well it's who they tied themselves to for at least another year but i agree. They will be lucky to find a useful contributor but until I see the DC situation change I am presuming it's SSDD. Well it sounds like maybe in 2027.
