Gil Brandt would take YOU over Jimmy Clausen

Was just listening to late hits on NFL radio and a listener from Charlotte called in and asked if he thought Colby Cameron could beat out jimmy Clausen in training camp.

Gil's response was " Brian I don't know you and I don't know if you can throw a football but I'd take you over that quarterback from Norte Dame"..

It's up to jimmy and the panthers to decide a: if he stays b: what the terms will be c: if he even wants to stay

The kid knows his rep is toast and he can't sign anywhere else , might as well work his ass off to hold on to the never useful 3rd string QB job.

Jimmy seems like a nice guy though, I hate to poo on him.

From all second hand accounts I have heard of things about town he is a total dick head. Maybe he has grown up in the past few years though.

    • well i could go on & on but i will just highlight it by saying big difference trust me from the SEC & NFL.it's honestly like comparing apples & oranges especially when you are talking about a  LT. in the NFL you are going up against the most athletic freaks of nature the world has to offer . .the NFL also has much more exotic & complicated defensive schemes than what they are used to seeing at Georgis &  finally but most importantly you have to learn how to master complex bio mechanics where the body kick steps instantly as a reaction to these world class athletes rush without really making a conscious effort it's more of a learned muscle memory  & it can take thousands upon thousands of reps to master rproper technique for a LT in the NFL especially if you are still very raw like Monroe Freeling is    ...just saying
    • All that being the case or maybe being the case, we do not know Wharton’s timetable n the first place. They are being coy about it. Or maybe not. They say week to week the board says he is terminal lol and must be replaced. Who knows? It may or may not warrant a fairly drastic solution.  Walker is a bargain and we are not well stocked at OL despite recent investments. Freeling has yet to have a single padded practice. Too much speculation driving this plan IMO.
    • I would really love to know who’s actually making these moves because it’s weirdly vague who’s doing the hiring and firing.
