He was a fighter. Made a lot of bone headed plays but who doesn't remember when he came in for RP and made the magic happen.

Agree.  Statue is a bit much.  Love Jake, but you want to have really high standards for stuff like that.

Come on Squirrel......we always knew Jake's talent was in his heart.  That is what we loved about him.  He was never a great talent...but for a while he was a great QB for us. Not great as Peyton, Brady, or Marino....but just a guy who played his heart out and wanted to win. What is wrong with loving that??

Not sure if I'll ever forgive him for the Arizona game though. We should've won the super bowl in '08. That was arguably the best panthers team of all time. Smith in his prime, Beason, TD, Peppers, Gamble in their primes, a dominant OLine, Deangelo with 1500 and 18 TDs, and Stewart was looked like he was also a top 10 RB. Only reason we didn't go 13-3 and have the #1 seed was because John kasay missed a FG against the giants
