What is the deal with Wharton......did he want too much money, or was he not healthy? There has to be a reason why the Panthers did not offer him a contract. At the very least, he would be a good backup.

Read on rotoworld he's in talks with the falcons. Not to say they will get him, but I read it last night.

Alright everybody; deep breaths. In through the nose, out through the mouth. Good?

Cuts are coming soon. There will be guys there that can come in and be backups. Is it the best situation? Obviously not. I've got faith there is someone (or 2 or 3) that will hit the market.

My guess is that the team will target Sean Locklear, Frank Omiyale, and possibly Piggy. I could see Locklear taking the vet minimum, especially since he's from Lumberton and is coming off of an ACL tear on the wrong side of 30.

    • After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.
    • The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.
    • I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
