Won't win until Ron Rivera is fired

We have to  make it through this, another mediocre year of Panther football.

Next year this team will completely have Gettlemens' stamp on it in player personnel, cap management and most important, Coaching Staff.

Meanwhile, prepare for 7-9.

Not exactly impressed with what I've seen from Gettleman.

He's gotta go.  It's not all his fault, but we need a change of culture.  The team has no faith in his staff's ability to deliver in late game situations.  We fold like a cheap suit.  I know Gettleman is new, but how many times will he have to watch the Panthers fold in the 4th quarter before he pulls the trigger?  The fans are tired of it.

We ran 30 times on a team with arguably the best, biggest defensive backfield in the conference, while we have one legit receiver and a bunch of question marks. We were running it down their throats, getting ready to score the winning touchdown when DeAngelo coughed it up. We have a patchwork O line, patchwork defensive backfield and again, no legit no. 2 receiver, and we lost to the Seahawks by 5. It sucks and I'm mad about it, but I'm not ready to fire anyone.

I agree that was huge, but under Rivera it's always something.  The only thing that remains the same is that we don't win close games.  There's always something to point to as an excuse.  The bottom line is that he and his team are not getting it done.

Team effort in loss.  Rivera deserves as much blame as DWill though.  Keeping Thomas out there over and over while he's getting burnt is stupid.  Keeping Smith out there on ST, is stupid.  This is a guy who kicked some dude in the nuts in the preseason, he's had too many chances.  Also the handcuffs on Cam will not win us games, you could tell from Cam's body language that he was not happy most of the game with these calls.   The best thing Cam is at is the deep ball, and it was basically nowhere to be found.   Going for it on 4th and inches could go either way though.

Rivera has improved very much and I have liked his attitude this season, but the man is to blame for this loss along with the scrubs on our team. Keeping Thomas in is just stupid.

I'm not sure if Rivera is to blame more for Gettleman. We need a proven caliber CB on this team now! They better go and get one soon.

alexander ejection was mystifying.  but it's the kind of worst time, worst mistake kind of situation this team finds a way to excel in.  at least tampa and trashlanta lost too, but it's unfortunate new whoreleans won.  anytime anything positive happens to the taints is unfortunate.  i bet fat alice is orgasming on piles of his dad's monopoly money.

I think we are close to being a good team. Sure losing close games is not good, and not closing out games is not good, but I guess one can take from that that we were at least close enough to win those games in question. I would rather be as close as we are to winning games, than how close other losing teams often find themselves when they get blown out on a regular basis. At least when we lose it is generally close, and with more effective play calling and execution, those defeats could turn into victories.

That is me trying to put a positive spin on the Rivera era.

If things start to click this team is not far from being a competitive team. Will getting rid of Rivera help us become more competitive? Maybe, maybe not. Not every coaching change works in a team's favor. I am sure we can all find examples of a head coach that comes in and turns around a franchise, and equally we can find examples of head coaches that come in and don't turn around franchises. So while I am not sold on Rivera's long term future, I am equally willing to give him and this team the chance to get the job done.
