I debated with myself on posting this, but I'm doing it anyway. This is just to serve as a warning to those who engage in this activity. My wife, who was 29, died this morning of liver failure. It was an extremely disturbing and painful death, very difficult to watch. Just remember, take things in moderation and tell those you love that you love them often, because you never know when the end is near. I'm not looking for any replies or sympathy; I just want to tell people that execessive alcohol consumption is very dangerous and you can pay for it with your life; sometimes with very short notice. Always take things in moderation and alcohol is not the answer to long term problems.

RIP Lauren,

Love Michael

Wow. I can't even imagine going through that. My condolences to you and your family.

My father is an alcoholic, and has been just about my whole life unfortunately. Luckily I have never had any serious issues with addiction. Frankly I haven't even had a drink in going on two months now. Just haven't had the urge.

Again, my thoughts are with you. I hope you have close friends/family that can help you get through this.

i can't even begin to imagine man. one of my good friends died of a pill addiction. these words helped me

"The world is like a ride at an amusement park. It goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it’s very brightly colored and it’s very loud and it’s fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question: Is this real, or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, “Hey – don’t worry, don’t be afraid, ever, because, this is just a ride…”

i hope you find peace in this ride we are very lucky to be on.

thanks for taking something like this event and using it to try and help others avoid it. i hope for yours and her sake someone is impacted enough to change the way they deal with alcohol (and other not so good stuff that we tend to not do in moderation).

may peace of mind come your way.

that's really heartbreaking to read and I'm so sorry for you and your friends/families...I couldn't imagine.

I'm sure I won't be the only one to give my family an extra squeeze the next chance I can.

sorry Michael, my condolences.

    • Yeah well I was agaisnt Hurney coming back and then helping hire Rhule but it happened anyways. Tepper has made it so bad and it's still ongoing currently.
    • Yeah, that "Me against the world" mentality can work....when you are right and know what you are doing. But if you don't know what you are doing and can't accept that you need to learn, that is an impossible hill to climb.
    • I can’t argue too hard with established track records. Just hope because it has happened before.   I think it takes massive and embarrassing failure. It isn’t hard to conceptualize the general truism that success in one field does not guarantee success in another. I have had to experience that in my the hard way before, dealing with a self made millionaire friend.  Getting them to understand that is very difficult. I had to part ways to escape it 30 years later, he still hasn’t learned. But he isn’t my problem anymore….  Tepper cannot be excised so easily.
