I'm a Cam nut hugger but if Cam doesn't get it together and make his own decisions with the football, then we might as well look somewhere else when his contract runs up.

He doesn't audible, so if the defense is in perfect position for the play then thats it, the play is over loss of down. He makes 1 read 90% of the time, and now he won't scramble because the coaching staff has him whipped.

The reason Cam and the offense is sucking is because its so damn predictable and easy to game plan for.  Shula is in 100% complete control of the offense, Cam has gone as far as implying that he has no input. And since he doesn't audible, we are screwed.

Even f'ing E.J. Manuel changed plays at the line of scrimmage and ran his own yesterday. Cam either doesn't have a clue and his football IQ is indeed bad, or the coaching staff is so set in their crappy ways that Cam can't do anything.

Cam is an 8,000+ yard QB, there are no doubts about his talents and his ability to throw the football.

With EVERY quarterback, you have to build a level of comfort from when the ball is kicked to the last whistle being blown. Coming out sunday with gun slinging deep ball threats is RIDICULOUS to blame Cam for. We failed to establish a power running game early and reverted to using it in the second half. What you bafoons fail to realize that the inconsistency starts with the game planning and play calling.

Football is a CHESS MATCH that may very well be won before the ball is even snapped. The offensive coordinator and the head coach must game plan for strengths and weaknesses of the the opposing team and know how to exploit them. In addition, throughout the game there must be a pattern of plays to set up and manipulate the defence. For example, Shula on last play of our offensive calls a third and five draw play after running ten straight hand-offs. HOW ARE YOU GOING TO FOOL A DEFENCE WHEN THEY ARE ALREADY EXPECTING A RUN WITH NINE IN THE BOX? The inability to understand when and where certain plays should be called shows the ineptness of the coaching staff.

YOU MUST GET CAM NEWTON INTO A RHYTHM. The playcalling does not allow him to get into a consistent pattern of reads.

If Cam continues to play like he has been, and the injuries continue to pile up, then it will between us and the Jaguars for the #1 overall draft pick imo. Bell is terrible, but Cam has had plenty of opportunities to make plays down the field. He isn't hitting open receivers, so I'd say QB is a position to look at in the draft, especially if we're picking #1.

cam played bad at first then tighten up, not so worried about him as a pocket passer but he might need to work with ginn more to connect on those deep passes and I've gotten use to the occasionally sailed pass........overall i can't really complain too much he turned what looked to be a horrible game for him into and actually decent game......don't dissect into it too much and some might see that as well

I think we're way too talented of a team to be getting the first overall pick. But if it does happen then we need to think about a QB, because chances are if we're that bad then we didn't get quality play out of the QB position

I am not surprised by Bell's performance.  To quote the Panthers best coach ever:  He is what he is.  Bell is/was undrafted for a reason.  He is a solid backup....but not an every day RT.  The Panthers should have given Bell help.  The guy had a bad game, but did they not see he was struggling, and at least put Hartsock in to help or something?

you didn't notice he was in as an extra blocker?  one of the few adjustments i did see

    • Summary The 2024 Carolina defense posted a 44.9 grade last year, which was the worst in the NFL since 2020. They also had the worst receiving grade in the NFL despite a QB that emerged in the second half of last year. TMac is most likely WR1 in this class and is now WR1 in Carolina He's going to be incredibly helpful on go balls, dig routes, and in the redzone. Highlights show just that: First highlight is Arizona vs. Utah. 4 verts vs. cover-0, TMac lined up alone on a go ball vs. press = we're launching it Second highlight shows his potential as the X. Runs a backside in-cut and the Tampa-2 MLB sells out on the corner route, leaving his back to TMac. Tough over the middle, explosive after the play. Sees TMac doing a lot of what Mike Evans was asked to do in Tampa. Third highlight shows how effective TMac is in the redzone and it's his one-handed catch vs. Travis Hunter. Brings "indefensible plays." Has size advantage that can beat guys, can jump, and has ridiculous hands. Will help Bryce in year 3 as it will allow him to continue playing "fearless" like he did after coming back from benching. Highlights show where TMac fits and re-emphasizes how he's going to make things easier on go balls, dig routes, and in the redzone: Fourth highlight shows Bryce vs. ATL when he hit AT vs. AJ Terrell down the sideline. Bryce has to hold the single deep safety during his drop to give Thielen a chance (who is only 4yds off of the LOS when Bryce is throwing it). Registers the big-time throw attacking vertically. Fifth highlight is vs. KC on a blitz where Bolton is coming downhill while Karlaftis is dropping back over the middle. Has an in-route that has outside leverage with Chris Jones applying immediate pressure. Layered it over Karlaftis' head for the completion. Sixth highlight is the fade route TD to David Moore vs. Zona. in the redzone. David Moore was the X on this play. Thought this was interesting, especially considering recent conversations about Bryce's intermediate game needing to be better:
    • Nah its Rod Brindamour 0-11 in the Eastern Conference Finals under him.....   Three trips in seven years Zero WINS in the third round.
