This Panthers team has the most swagger of any I can remember. Why don't the fans?

There were probably better teams we had under John Fox, but Fox never let those teams do things like show real emotion, get vocal, actually do some taunting during games. We've been blowing teams out lately by historic margins for this franchise and I've loved seeing guys like Drayton Florence and Luke Kuechly join in not being good little robots on the field along with Steve Smith. They won't admit it after the Ryan Kalil Super Bowl debacle, but I bet every player on this team feels like they have a chance at a Super Bowl ring this year.

So why is our fan base not even close to that point? More than half the people on the Huddle seem to feel like we're not just going to lose to San Francisco, but lose badly. Listen to talk radio: People are excited about the season, but no one feels like we're going to beat either San Francisco OR New England in the next couple of weeks.

I feel like we're collectively going through battered wife syndrome where some of you guys will be suspicious of the team unless you see Cam and Jerry Richardson holding up a Lombardi trophy in February. Grow up, this is a great team with a championship level defense and a championship level quarterback (as long as he's not throwing bombs down the field). I think we'll beat the 49ers on Sunday and we'll beat the Patriots the week after that. Fug me right?

All the close losses and blown leads from Rivera's first two years have left a mark.  The 2003 team was known for it's comebacks, and until this year the team has become known for other teams' comebacks against them.

When we blow out SF and NE, I'm sure a lot of fans will come around.

Because we have been embarrassed before.

We don't want to be the guy that stands around talking poo to everyone acting like a badass thinking we are cool only to realize our zipper is down and our dicks are hanging out.

I say fug it, let the wang hang and keep talking poo.  Time to buy into this team.

Someone get this to Panthers PR *stat*, re: new team slogan:

"Let the wang hang!"

    • Backup QB has been an issue of mine for a long time but not just for Bryce and Dalton. We have never really been able to develop QBs or build an offense around strengths. Dalton isn't going to move the needle one way or another. The problem is in our FO and possibly coaching staff (current staff undetermined as of yet). I'm of the belief that you always try to get better. Dalton wasn't good other than one game against an abysmal defense. Churn the roster, including backup QB. If BY isn't the guy we've got to start over anyway. Who knows. We might actually find someone good. Other teams have done it before.
    • Lol. Worst case? I think you mean most likely result. I don't think people are going to be wasting much breath on Dalton or QB2 if Bryce flounders this year. It's going to be people calling for coaches, GM's and owners heads for the mess we got ourselves in with Bryce in the first place. Rightfully so.
    • I mean that's his sole reason for being here. He doesn't win football games. He's here to keep Bryce comfortable.
