Official Panthers - Patriots Gameday Thread

Zod

Recommended Posts

In their most anticipated Monday Night Football game in years, the Panthers seek to establish themselves as a top tier team in the NFL.

The Bank will be blacked out and louder than ever this evening.

On TV: ESPN

Radio: 1110WBT

I will be tweeting observations and pics starting at 7pm, follow @CarolinaHuddle

Keys to a Panthers victory:

1. Long sustained scoring drives, keep Brady off of the field.

2. Apply pressure from the front 4, blitzing will not phase Brady. The ball comes out too quickly.

3. Take advantage of Patriots rookie safety Harmon with Ted Ginn on deep routes.

4. Run, Cam, Run. Cam breaking a long run will force the Patriots to rush less and contain more.

keys are spot on, tho i would add throw to olsen early and often and handle gronk like we handled gonzo and vernon.

success on either team will have usage of the TEs factored in heavily. i don't think the pats can do well without gronk and i don't think they can do much to stop olsen. the advantage there is with us. cam has very little problem getting the ball to olsen and we do a good job of handling TEs.

    • Dude you're all over the place. Bryce definitely played better than average down the stretch last year. That's what I said. I dont think it's controversial, and I think it's true based both on stats and by actually watching him play. He was the 6th rated passer by PFF during the last 8 weeks. In no world is that below average You trying to twist this into something else is a you thing.  Have a great night
    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
