What Dolphins Fans are Saying...

The only reason Brady was held to 20 points was due to the Carolina O playing well keeping the NE O on the sideline.

The D had nothing to do with keeping NE under 21 points. Only got off the field once on 3rd down the entire game. They punted ONCE all game and pretty much drove the entire field on every possession.

Ron and the D would prob be the first to say they did not have a good showing.

Hell, we let them drive the length of the field with 50 seconds remaining in the game knowing they had to pass the ball.

Not a good night for our D.

Well poo, i didnt know they were SUPPOSED to play garbage. Could have fooled me.

I personally like the fact that the media thinks our record is inflated by bad opponents. Every week we hear excuses why the other team lost not why the Panthers won.

That alone should make the players hungry for more. We won our first 5 games because we played lackluster opponents per the media.

We beat San Francisco because Kapernick is struggling and the 49ers have injuries........per the media

We beat the Patriots because the officials helped us....... Yada ....Yada.....Yada....

They just scored 55 points in their game before us and had a bye week to scheme for us and we still held them to 20 on MNF. I'd say that's pretty good.

the Pats BARELY made it out of the first half with 3 points. . . LOL 3!

They didnt start moving the ball until Belicheat called for the "sweep the leg"  on CJ.

You cant count the last TO. It was a desperation heave to the in-zone from like the 25 yard line when our whole D knew that was what they were gonna do.

The fact of the matter is they marched right down the field on 6 of 7 possessions. Essentially we only stopped their O one time all game. That is beyond pathetic! 2 if you count Riddleys fumble. We stop them 2 times all game?

Before the final drive with 50 seconds left they scored on like 4 of 6 possessions. And it wasnt like they were getting short fields. Carolina was scoring right with them and they started about every drive from their own 20.

That was not a good performance and they better be able to get more stops against the Saints.

I would agree if it were a garbage-time interception, but you asolutely can count it because it effectively ended a drive that could have resulted in game-winning points; if they had scored, you'd be adding the drive to your list of scoring drives.  And offenses have been going up and down the field to some extent all season - they just didn't get TDs like the Patriots did.  The Patriots are arguably the best competition that Carolina has faced all year and this is a reasonable outcome.

As for Miami, we would expect Carolina to perform but it's really an unkown after the last 2 week.  They certainly wouldn't be the first team to suffer a letdown after riding an emotional high.

Miami won't be an "easy win", I don't think there is such a thing in the NFL, especially these days. But if we are going to make the playoffs, we've gotta be able to put away teams like this, no excuses. Win. Our players know this, and they are hungry. The time is now.

this game should be like the rams game...i expect them phins to play pretty well and the defense to show up at key moments and get them off the field. the big thing is that tannehill can run but prefers to stay in the pocket. we need to get after him early and often. I am expecting at least 6 sacks. we have not come too far to forget what a loss feels like we need this win just like new england game

Rivera alluded to not being totally happy with the defensive effort agianst the Pats in his after the game pc - glad we got the win but I wasnt particularly impressed either .

What I remember is Ron saying after the game on the field that he was disappointed by how the defense was playing while Charles Johnson was off the field and that they would focus on that this week.

When 95 came back, *BAM* we were a better defense.

Like i said the other day, the defense has been so good this year they have spoiled some people in the fanbase to the point where letting them crossed the 50 yard line is failure. If you think giving up points to good teams with GOOD Qbs is not acceptable then i hope you dont even bother watching the playoffs if we get that far, you wont be satisfied with that either.

Dolphins fans are typically a loyal and passionate bunch. They have seen highs and lows, but remain dedicated to their team. Its difficult not to like them.

I browsed ThePhins.com for a glimpse of how they see Sunday's matchup...

People love Luke, and why wouldn't they?

Correct.

Could be. Arizona comes to mind.

I doubt it. I think it will be within 6 points.

Yes, yes they are. If you think holding Tom Brady to 20 points on MNF is underwhelming... well....

Zod, I made this exact thread two days ago in the smack forum. Can you at least merge mine into this one?

    • THE WALKER BACKGROUND Here is where this gets weird.  Walker is a serviceable LT who could benefit from Gilbert's experience and coaching.  However, he is known for below-average run blocking and frequent penalties.  As you know, a penalty from a LT is a drive killer. A former 7th round pick, Walker has outperformed expectations, but he still ranks around the middle of the pack when compared to other tackles.  Having said that, it seems as if the Panthers are banking on Walker for a year and will then make a decision on Ickey.  In Green Bay, Walker was the starter, but the Packers weren't exactly sold on him. While most people think the oft-injured David Bakhtiari retired in 2023, he really wanted to keep playing.  He was released on March, 11, 2024.  Walker stepped in and took the reserve LT job from Nijman in that 2023 season, but they were close--probably because Nijman was more of a swing OT.  However, Nijman was a free agent in 2024, so the Panthers signed him just a week after Bakhtiari was released, leaving the Packers only Walker to play LT.  A month later, the Packers drafted a LT in the first round, Jordan Morgan out of Arizona.  Most Packer fans believe that Morgan would have beat out Walker for the LT job in 2024, but he had some shoulder injuries and went to IR after 6 games. In 2025, when the Packers had an injury at G during the season, instead of putting Morgan in at LT for Walker as planned, they played Morgan to guard because Walker can only play 1 position.  The Packers currently project Morgan back to LT for 2026, which is probably why they did not seek to retain Walker, at least in part. Based on this history, it is safe to say this: Walker is better than Nijman. We have the benefit of them being on the same team in a direct competition to help us see that. Walker is probably closer to Ickey, except for the penalties.  That bothers me a lot.  Bryce sucks when we get behind the sticks, and a run-first offense with a poor run-blocking LT is not ideal.   Regardless, I think Ickey and the Panthers find themselves in limbo right now, so the Walker deal comes at a perfect time for the GM.  Gilbert, perhaps, can work on the penalties and maybe a TE like Tremble can help offset the run blocking issues, so maybe we can actually stay the course at OT.  Maybe we do not draft a LT--maybe we draft a RT to groom behind Moton.  Maybe we draft a C.  At LT, the Panthers do not want to overreact, especially if Ickey returns to form or Walker demonstrates improvement.  Depth is certainly a concern, but a solid RT can be that depth.   I doubt the Panthers draft a LT in rounds one or maybe two.  It seems we have bigger needs at Will LB, DT, TE, and maybe S.
    • THIS! IF we go offense at 19, it should be the trenches, which is no longer a pressing need with Waler's signing. 3 biggest needs in 2026, IMO, are DT, FS, ILB. We need to upgrade our starters at those positions and I expect anyone rafted at 19 to start immediately. I could rationalize OT (right or left) or CB since we're an injury away from a severe drop off AND have huge offseason concerns at both next year. Unless Bryce plays a lot better, I want to upgrade QB next year so I could get behind locking in a 2027 starter this year if the right guy is there. You COULD argue NCB and TE are positions where we need to upgrade our starters, sure, but not at 19. Both positions can still be upgraded on day 2.
    • He's firmly a second rounder and I don't think we would go that high for a TE this draft.  Third?  Possibly. I mean Rhule drafted Tremble in the third round who clearly was just a blocking TE.
