His base salary is 5 million next year with a 1 million signing bonus hit and a 1.1million option bonus hit tagged on. If we cut him, we shed his 5 million base and only his 2 million in signing bonus cap distribution gets accelerated. Meaning we go from a 7.1 cap hit to a 2million cap hit, saving 5.1 million.

Definitely much better at free safety, a position he really only played for about 5 games before being injured. The cap number can certainly come down but I'm not against him competing in camp next year.

I've been a huge CG supporter but it looks like we don't need him or his contract. There's a good possibility he's played his last game here.

I'd flip flop those actually.

 

Godfrey gets on highlight reels making a big hit or an easy pick or something occasionally.  Those make him look better than he really is. 

 

If you watch a full game performance, there's plenty to criticize.
