Stewart's injury is more serious than a knee contusion

Ya, keep thinking both Deangelo and Stewart will be on the roster next year. You were the same poster claiming Gettle wouldn't release Chris Gamble.

Yeah, there is no way in hell we're keeping both.  I'm thinking Stewart will be gone also, and we'll draft another running back next year in the 3rd or 4th round.

It's likely both backs are gone next year.  They're paying what, $50 million dollars to keep those guys on the roster?  Alright yea I know that's not the exact number but I know it's more than any other team is paying for their running backs.  Neither of them are producing enough on the field to justify that high of a cap hit.  That money needs to go into improving other more important areas of the roster.  Stewart is as good as gone.  He will probably end up on IR honestly.

Stew has always been a class act, but I'll always say he was one of Hurney's greatest errors.

Pick Albert in the 1st and Forte in the 2nd and we would have never entered the two years of no 1st rounder hell.

Not to mention the cap dollars we threw at him.

Stewart took a low hit from Saints CB Keenan Lewis at the end of a 16-yard catch and never returned. He's headed for a Monday MRI to determine the extent of the damage. If Stewart were to miss time, DeAngelo Williams would reemerge as the clear-cut feature back for Carolina. During the first seven games of the year (while Stewart was on PUP), Williams averaged 16.2 carries and 1.8 catches per game. The concern with using him as a potential plug-n-play flex is that he gets the Jets No. 2 run defense in Week 15. Dec 9 - 8:32 AM

1. Cutting Stewart costs the team $12M if he's cut outright, nothing if he's a June 1 cut.

2. Kenjon Barner "comeback?" When was he ever relevant and/or will he ever be relevant? I think not.

3. DeAngelo will be 31 when next season begins.

There are some definite age issues at skill positions which have been ignored for a couple seasons which need to be addressed. The window for putting the current QB and team into the limelight is getting smaller by the day. I think Cam Newton is going to leave regardless when his time comes, so making the most of hit time while here is maybe this year and next... best case scenario.

Cam isn't going anywhere.  He'll be franchised if it comes to that.  This is the NFL.  Stars don't usually get to walk unless a team lets them.

Cam leave? There is no way that happens.

Tell me, how often do teams let franchise quarterbacks go?

I agree with your first three points. However, no way Cam leaves or is allowed to leave.

I hate the Saints as much as anyone but I don't think that hit on Stew was dirty.

Who in their right mind is going to hit Stewart high?  Also in general the Saints played like they wanted it more and were definitely more physical.

The Panthers literally let the Saints push them around all game, should have embarrassed them all.

If you let the bully get by with bullying then they will always do it...we did nothing to get back at them or their physicality.

You mean like how well it worked when the Panthers franchised Peppers? Don't think the same thing could happen again? I wouldn't be so sure.

Yeah, and we all know how well that works out for the team when someone gets franchised. All it does is piss off the player and usually results in that player leaving regardless.

Where is Carolina going to come up with the money to pay him and retain any of the quality players on the team? It's up to Cam and I think if he feels like the team isn't doing enough to build a championship team, he'll opt for another chance elsewhere regardless of the money.

DWILL has been so much better when he gets the carries. Hopefully he shines yet again in our last 3 games.

Williams has been middle of the road this year. On grass against a solid D.....like NY next week he doesn't have enough in the tank anymore
