What Saints Fans are Saying - Part Deux

This morning I decided to take a visit to SaintsReport.com to observe Saints fans in their natural habitat.

Here are a few pearls of wisdom they are offering...

We manhandled them recently, This is a must win game for them... even if they beat us in Carolina we can still stick it to them by beating Tampa. There is ten times more pressure on them. Put the towel back over their collective heads.

This is essentially a playoff game! My only cause for pause is that we were in this exact same predicament leading up to the Seattle game. Playoff seeding was on the line, we were going on the road to play a very physical team and we didn't show up. It's a shame that it had to come down to this, but on Sunday we will see what the 2013 Saints are made of. Will we rise to the occasion or shrivel under the pressure? At this point I don't know what to expect. This game is a "pick em"! Both teams are going to play hard.

The way it is playing out, the Saints have stumbled into a "winner take all" scenario on Sunday - win and you get the 2 seed, and rest the starters the final week of the season. If the Saints pull out a win against a strong Carolina team in their house, an argument could be made that the St. Louis debacle served to get the team focused to get the job done, while sapping the Rams loss of any relevance whatsoever, in terms of playoff implications, all the while building confidence going into the post season.

On the road, against that front 7, adjustments will need to be made in the form of extra help on the O-line, which will probably lead to limiting some of the offensive firepower, but, if that means giving Brees time to try to hit one of the receivers and avoid getting hit repeatedly, then so be it.

It seems Saints fans are a little more humble before this meeting than last. That might have something to do with the plastering the Rams gave them.

Saints offense is gears to arena football style play............good on that marble surface in their dump dome............but bad on natural grass or even other dome surfaces.........

I don't think it has much to do with the surface they are playing on, Hell they just got manhandled in a dome by the Rams and barely beat the Falcons in their dome. They only scored 16 and 17 pts. in those dome games this year.  I think it has more to do with a certain comfort level and crowd noise when you play in such a rythm based offense that relies on timing for most of they plays they run.

BOA needs to be loud this Sunday...take Brees out of his comfort zone and the game will go to the Panthers.

Remember all the hype for our Sunday night game with them? I think that hype will be more applicable to this week. And I think they're feeling that. Cam looked as good passing against the Jets as he has all season, and our run game looked as dominant as we know it can be. If the defense shows up and smacks that OL around a bit, we should see a favorable outcome. If we win, I expect a big win. I don't see us taking our foot off the gas with the lead until the 4th. And, playing at home, I'm not entirely worried about falling behind a little bit, if that does happen.

Saints fans better recognize after that beating the Rams gave them. Losing on the road to the Seahawks didn't humble them because the consensus is, Seattle is the team to beat in the NFC. Losing on the road to the Rams? That stings and causes worry. We can capitalize on that BIG time in this game. I hope there are Saints fans at this game, just to see their faces if/when we go up by 2 TDs or more.

Only difference this time is we are not playing in the poo dome. For whatever reason they are great there.

I don't actually believe this but, do you ever wonder if the other teams locker room is bugged? Season after season the Saints look like a 4-12 team outside the dome but they look like the 1972 Miami Dolphins inside the dome..

Like I said I don't actually believe this but... Sean Payton has cheated before..

    • Dan's been part of 5 drafts, 3 as an assistant to the "last guy" and 2 leading the way. The first 3 with Fitts were pretty ugly overall. Last year's draft, his 1st, isn't looking hot. This year looking like a winner.  He's been part of some bad FA decisions, some good ones, and right now we have the most expensive OL in the league with our franchise LT on the last year of his rookie deal. That's going to get even more expensive.  I'm not ready to crown him as a GM god quite yet because one good year isn't making up for all the bad that's been done the previous 4.
    • It is what it will be. I’m over bitching about Young myself. It changes nothing about the situation to constantly complain about him so I personally am not going to do it. I’m looking for another target because this one is played out and it changes nothing.
    • I’m getting his jersey. I never buy jerseys. But today I bought 2 at the team store. I got a Delhomme and Peppers legacy jerseys. They didn’t have my size in. DB jersey. Its at the top of my jersey hit list.
