Asante Samuel released from the Falcons

wouldn't hurt. would fit us better than the falcons and since we have a much MUCH better front 7, it wouldn't be so much pressure on him and he'd do better.

if getts, mcd, and rivera think he'd fit i'd be thrilled. could be a huge boost to the secondary.

No pass-rush will do that to you.

Wasn't all on the pass rush. It will help but he just deteriorated as a player and that was seen in his stats for the year.

Look at Trufant, he had a really good year under the same conditions.

Trufant: 53.4% compl, 12 yards/compl, 2 INT, 15 pass defended, 75.2 QB rating

Asante: 74.3% compl,  17 yards/compl, 1INT, 2 pass defended, 113.7 QB rating

It could revitalize whats left of Samuel's career.  This is a guy that has some familiarity with the system and comes from a hated division rival.  His knowledge of ATL's offense could prove more valuable than his his play which is still an upgrade over anyone on our roster playing CB atm.

I would totally take Asante Samuel for one year, but I'd also like to bring back Munnerlyn for three year deal as well. I feel that he deserves it, especially since the team runs a lot plays from the nickel. Having Samuel, White, and Munnerlyn starting in that package seems quite solid to me.
