Smitty venting on Twitter

This is sure to turn into a lets bash Smitty thread. But the whole thing is still fresh & we all know how he is. He probably wont get over it any time soon & to me it just shows how much he really didn't wanna leave, so that makes me happy. I expect all the little subliminal shots to stop once the season starts tho

He's not trash and it's sad but this is a business and our offense was stagnant and filled with vanilla playmakers. Woulda been nice to have Smitty as a #2 possession receiver but only if he would have shredded his old contract and taken a new one like what Cotchery's. Sigh

I'm sure he is upset, but all this trash talk is a major reason why he was released.

Don't bite the hand that feeds you. It's an old adage, and he's just as much in the wrong as anybody else in this fiasco.

Steve was told last year to stop being a dick to other players. He didn't stop. It's not like he wasn't given a heads up.

Lol just stop with this. The outpouring of love Smith has gotten from Panthers past and present is like nothing I've ever seen. It's a absolutely ludicrous to try and perpetuate this nonsense when absolutely nothing supports it.

ok Billvoth we get it! & even if that were true it still doesn't make sense to continue to try & throw it out there sullying his name then expect him to not to be bitter. it doesn't matter anymore because he's gone. Happy? Good

    • The biggest problem in Washington was Bieniemy. First year starting QB and a poor pass blocking OL and your plan is to throw the ball at the highest percentage rate in the NFL? Yikes.
    • One could argue we've been there for 5 years.
    • I believe many are just looking at this wrong.  For any to come in here, in what is absolutely an unproven offense, and suggest that we're just going to let our young QB sling it around... that is not a recipe for success.  Don't care who the young QB is.  It is absolutely best to start the season establishishing the run game, and allow Young better opportunities to flourish.   I know half of you simply thing the kid is already a waste of time. That take is pretty damn pointless at this moment.  It is in the best interest of this team that Young becomes the winner here in the pros that he has been throughout all his playing days.  I know we're in a passing league. I've heard  that most of you feel a team can't win in the modern NFL with leaning more on the running game.  All that poo doesn't matter. Without balance,  neither is going to win in the NFL.  A strong running game has to be respected by opposing defense.  They won't have a choice.  Either commit to stopping it or be ran over, and in the 4th QB their defense will be gassed and worthless.   Finding true balance will mean the passing game will exceed all expectations for this team.    When teams rely upon a balanced attack it has been proven time and time again that a good stable of running backs is needed.  Even elite passing attacks need some threat of a running game.    This season is going to be a growing season no matter what.  Leaning on the run game is a great way for this team to exceed expectations.
