Would it be worth it to trade up...?

If either Greg Robinson or Jake Matthews fell out of the top 10 somehow? What if Sammy Watkins fell outside the top 10? I don't necessarily want to trade up but if its for a guarenteed franchise LT or #1 wideout, I think it could be worth it.

I don't think so with our current holes, especially when there's a lot talent in our positions of need this year. If anything I think trading down could come into play unless someone we really like has fallen to us. If we however don't end up with a player of need that's BPA, such as another defensive end, I could see us trading back, picking up an extra third.

Well its flip sided in my mind. We trade up and nab a #1 or franchise tackle, while relinquishing what would likely be a future first, which would also save us cap room next season on not having to pay a first rounder.

On the other side, in losing that future pick wed lose an opportunity to add talent at one of our less solidified positions.

In all seriousness though none of the above fall out of the top 10 and the panthers will not make any splashy trades

Theres no pinned thread for an ongoing discussion so I have no problem with repeat threads like this honestly.  Not interested?  ignore it, its that easy.  Otherwise you have to search and bump an old thread thats going to irritate you just as much as the new thread.

You really have to give up a lot to move up in the draft.  With the quality of some of our picks lately its nice to think about having the full arsenal.  But it comes down to how much do you love the prospect?  Atlanta loved Julio Jones so much they used 2 first rounders and multiple mid rounders to draft him.  But that first rounder ended up being a very late round pick.   I bet they'd argue that it was worth it as he was one of the best wideouts in the league before injury.  Even with that college arm QB they have.

I don't know if theres anyone like that in this draft.

It's not pinned because there is no discussion to be had. It's been said over and over. The draft is deep in the positions we need. Why trade away picks when we can draft multiple guys? This should be a consensus but these topics keep coming back up.

Next someone will ask why we haven't cut Deangelo and Stewart.

    • Reasonable. I mean I didn’t see a clear path to relief this season myself. As I have typed already, I think the QB FA class is more interesting next season and that draft is supposed to be stacked as well. There just weren’t many options this year.  When you have Tepper to contend with you have to tread lightly around this unless you are 100% certain and willIng to stake your job on it.   There were a couple of outings that helped Bryce a lot in terms of  thinking maybe he can do this, and if you are a supporter you are giving them a lot of weight. You are likely to think just get him some more help and he can do that every week. Which I think Tepper falls into that category.  And the playoffs, division champs, regardless of the way I see that, the supporters will also give that a lot of weight.    And the big one, the atmosphere In BOA for that WC game, Tepper had to be soiling himself over that. If you pulled Bryce out right now you had better be right and your new guy had better make the playoffs and look good doing it or you will be gone and your chance to build your old team back into respectability will be gone too.  So here we have Pickett on a one year deal, and Grier and King. I understand it.
    • Well, seeing as we play the Lions at home this year, pretty sure that rumor isn't true.
