IPAs, Golds and Reds are my choice of tipple.

Sweetwater brewery out of Atlanta have some decent beers, they have a few bars in ATL. Pyramid out of the Bay Area has been beaten into me, while I've tried and enjoyed Stone and Punk recently.

English beers: Shepherd Neame (Britain's oldest brewers) have a decent IPA and Masterbrew, and Late Red is also nice. The West Country has some good breweries: try butcombe (and try not to laugh when ordering it), Tribute and Doom Bar, the latter is often on pumps in pubs across England.

Apologies for the double post, but if you like lagers there's a fantastic one called Peroni (Nastro Azzuro in Italy) which is pretty mainstream. And if you can find the one with the red label it's even better.

Belgium has beautiful beers, it's worth going there just for the beers, especially blondes. Chimay, Duval etc. Leffe blanc is fantastic! Fruli fruit beer (Dutch or Belgian) is potent but tasty.

Really into Bell's Oberon Ale now. It's the perfect summer beer in my opinion. Light enough to enjoy in hot weather, citrus notes, great flavor.oberon.jpg

Belle's Oberon is a great summer beer.

I also like the old standby Sam's Summer Ale.

Also tried Highland's Little Hump Spring Ale yesterday. Very hoppy but refreshing.

A lot of what I drink is seasonal, I miss my pumpkin beer, but just some of the constant favorites found in my fridge...

  • Duck Rabbit Milk Stout
  • Terrapin Wake & Bake
  • Terrapin Moo-Hoo
  • Dogfish's Miles Davis Bitches Brew (when I can find it)

Never been a big IPA person, but Porters and Stouts are usually what I choose. For anyone in the middle of the state, my hometown (Siler City) is having a craft beer, BBQ, and bluegrass festival May 3rd. Come get drunk and eat meat.

I love my Ale's and Potters, Dead Guy is always a favorite of mine and NoDa used to have a awesome Porter called to Choco loco and there's another Called the Vanilla Porter that is awesome too.

BTW NoDa did just win the IPA Gold in the Beer World cup so that one must be worth a try, I've not had their IPA yet but will do next time I'm in Charlotte.

The Wake & Bake and the Milk Stout are both excellent, I've tried them before, the Milk stout on many occasions.
