Hello from 2024, Josh Norris.
-
That's a maybe. Bryce misses a lot of reads every game. And really for the same reason Andy did there, he bailed and started running around. The more damning thing was the holding onto the ball to "extend" plays and just getting sacked. That's not Andy's game at all. Never has been. That was uncharacteristic to the point of being absurd. You are a veteran, what the actual fug are you doing fuging around back there??? Throw it the fug away or make a decision. People talk Andy being washed in terms of physical ability but I don't think that really played a factor. It was his crippling indecisiveness that literally looked like year 1 Bryce that was infuriating. He looked like Vikings Carson Wentz or Jets era Sam Darnold. It was insane.

The wife thing is infuriating because it just shows the kind of shitshow Tepper has really run and how insanely unprofessional we are as a franchise. If you have any random, unqualified family member putting their two cents in to a critical draft decision, you are already off the reservation. IMO, that can largely extend to the owner, as well. I realize they have privileges there due to the ownership but I am firmly in the camp of, "Let your football people handle football stuff." We don't do that. Tepper is too smart to let these peons run his IRL fantasy football team. -

Bradford and Pennington would have passed 2nd round criteria. The 1st round criteria is a little higher and career longevity isn't factored. Years started is, because as a 1st round draft pick, the expectation is that you will be a starter and likely for a long time. But you can see why I shied away from using statistical means. You can end up cutting some objectively amazing players like Steve McNair or Cam Newton. Or even someone like Eli Manning. That's why I stayed with award/accolade or length of starting career or career. The logic being that if your peers(HOF), the fans/peers(Pro Bowl) or the media(All Pro) regarded you as one of the best, that accounts for a lot. It's taking a wide swath of largely well regarded opinions about a player's performance. In a manner of speaking so does career and starting length. That is the greater NFL(FO, coaching staffs, etc) saying that you are a valuable addition to the organization in some capacity(starter or backup). Statistics are tough because they ignore changes in the game and the vast differences in individual QB's. Cam was never a high completion percentage guy but he dominated many of the games he started. He changed the way people played us. TD:INT ratio seems like a decent enough marker but it eliminates gunslingers and especially old school style gunslingers. Guys that might have had MVP caliber performances(McNair) couldn't meet that criteria. It would probably be equally difficult to screen players by career winning percentage, QB rating, etc. Using individual statistical means to measure a career is really fuging hard. Doesn't mean I can't use them but I need input because a lot of the things I have attempted just didn't have great results in what I would say are "successful" careers. And my methodology isn't perfect. Certainly there are strong arguments against some of them people that met my criteria. Largely the Pro Bowl. I suppose I could increase that to 2+. - Today

A few things here. This is from the Blueprint series, they are absolutely talking about what lead up to drafting XL. Go back and watch it. Again this is produced by the Panthers and they for some godforsaken reason thought it would be good to include this clip of the owners wife not only telling morgan who she liked but also it would be ok to trade up for him. The owners wife that is in the draft room. This clip could have easily never seen the light of day but yet they thought it was a good idea to include it. Talk about tone deaf. I will ask again, why the fug is she giving any input on a goddamn wr? What are her fuging credentials other then pegging the owner? So to your original question about them meddling, its not only clear they still are and they seem to be flaunting it. oh and Dave Canales is like -

The leash is long and there's still time but he definitely exposed himself as not the offensive wiz he was cracked up to be. Looking like your average OC cosplaying as head coach. I feel like you could swap him and Evero and the results would be about the same -

I don’t think Mendoza will be there when we pick. And no trade ups, thank you. The last trade up wrecked this franchise. -

Do we have a good running game? It was good with Rico, but has sucked since Chuba came back in. -

ngl I would take Mike McCarthy as HC -
I believe someone posted a statistic in another thread somewhere showing that the Panthers have lost games by a margin of -18 point differential during the Canales area. Essentially, when Panthers lose they get blown out. When Panthers win, it’s by a very small margin. ATL game was an anomaly. Seems like our coaching staff is out coached.

She said "the guy that I like." It's hardly a smoking gun, but maybe. We just don't know the specifics. They could just be philosophizing, or talking about anyone. Could be talking about 2023.
-
With Wallace playing better in his new role I’d consider Caleb Downs or another edge to pair with Scourton.

It doesn’t have to be Tepper saying XL or else. people want to analyze in a vacuum of their value system. If you put yourself into the place and time and circumstances to find the motivations for why something was done, you are way out of that nice pure vacuum. Surely I don’t need to restate that our leading receiver from 2023 played a position different from what XL would play? How they are brand new hires tasked with Bryce as priority number one for the 2024 season. They wanted to add to AT. I could keep typing but you what I mean. They did a need pick for the short term because they had pressure on them to get that QB going. They did much better this past year on the WR pick. I kind of got over it.

I think if you get the model close enough, you have a win. There are too many variables to be 100%. Schemes, injuries, coaching changes, being traded etc... Sam Bradford, for example, was actually a good QB, but could never stay healthy and injures cut his career short. Pennington was pretty decent too before the injury bug got him. Mariota and Tim-T are an outliers for sure. The only name under the both requirement removed that was shocking was Luck. Eli was never a super accurate passer. Those Giant defenses won them the Super Bowls. As much was we love Cam, we all know his passing accuracy was his downfall. We know what Watson is now, but at one time he was a top QB in the League. -
We may likely be top-10 considering our remaining schedule. Think we’ll be in really good position for Reese.

All depends on who is there when we pick. Hard to say but I’m open to a QB in this next draft. Whether it’s a low risk 4th to be our new backup or Mendoza or Moore. -

Panthers Fan 69 started following Team ain’t healthy

Nothing matters until the team gets healthy. It’s missing half the team. Can close out leads. Can’t even forecheck. Defense is absolutely toast. That’s the strongest part of the canes. Our best player Slavin is out our best free agent. Out. I’m sure they would play if it’s the playoffs but the team isn’t good becasue that. Gotta tread water until then
