Amazing draft

I don't want to pile onto the "let's hate on Gettleman bandwagon", but, there's some flaws to your argument.

When we went through our first two seasons with Ron Rivera, and Ron was as close as possible to being fired, the argument went from "Ron interviewed with a lot of teams for the head coaching job, we know he has what it takes!" to "well, maybe those other teams seen something and passed a poo ton of times".

That's where we are with Gettleman.

Sure, he spent his time as a "grinder" or whatever the fug they called him, but every time he interviewed for a GM job, when he did sniff an interview, he was turned away for someone else. Maybe there's a reason for that? I wasn't in the interviews, I don't know. But, it's possible that other teams thought he doesn't have the chops to be a real NFL GM.

Now sure, we went 12-4 in his first season as GM. Which is awesome. But, the question I've been asking myself is, how much of that was Cam and Kuechly? Without two of the best players in the NFL at their position, what would our record have been? We're one injury away from either of those guys to having a top 5 pick next year, and that's not a good thing.

I couldn't disagree more. How are we at "hmmm well maybe there's a reason..." when the only solid evidence we have of his skill at putting together a team is a 12-4 season? I doubt many would've been questioning Rivera's ability if he'd gone 12-4 his first season. Especially just after the draft before his second season even started.

As far as being one injury away from a top 5 pick, that's what Gettelman is trying to fix. Most teams are one injury away from a top 5-10 pick. The ones that aren't, have good depth.

Such a deep WR draft and we walk away with only 1. Smh.

We have a total of 6WR on the roster currently. How many more should we draft? Any WR drafted in the late rounds is as good as McNutt and King (who are probably better having had a whole year to get into the playbook).
