That #2 TE spot.

probably dickson. his skills as a blocker are probably going to make up for a lot of deficiencies at the tackle position.

Unpopular position on this board as I think Williams is the sentimental favorite (see Ryne Robinson, Donald Hayes, Armanti Edwards, etc...)

I agree though and Dickson will most likely be the guy.

This is his second year.....I'm not sure what you expected out of an udfa te

I think the huddler that wrote that comment may expect more because he held one of the 53 roster spots lat year. That was an accomplishment in itself based on where he came from. I am more inclined to see it from your perspective. What is the probability of us finding the next tight end star as a UDFA? I get the fact that he had a scholarship to Oregon and had the knee issues. At the same time I stay optimistic and hope for that lighting in a bottle...lol

They say he worked his butt off in training camp last year. I am hopeful his work ethic carried over throughout the year when the cameras stopped following him so closely. We will find out soon enough in training camp.

Why the love for Dickson? Dude has been inconsistent at best in his career. I'm thinking Williams will win it if he continues to improve and stays healthy. McNeill is a good blocker so I wouldn't count him out in a Hartsock role as the 2nd tight end.

    • We only have 5 sacks which is dead last. Some teams have 20-30. Our pass rush is atrocious, worst in the league. That’s why we’re 22nd in scoring defense even with a shutout. That Atlanta game helps our rankings so much, but we’ll likely trend down over the season as it counts for 6% instead of 17%. Personally, the yardage numbers can be deceiving which is why I like scoring defense as a better representation. We of course look way better than last year but I wouldn’t consider it a top 10 defense yet.
    • You mean he got crap in 2005 after taking us to the NFC Championship. I don't remember that honestly but am not saying that is it not true. But in either case do you think it was justified?
    • Agree especially with BC at ROT I was thinking of this game primarily when I said that. They have been pretty good with adapting to different combinations this year. As far as it goes.
