Huddle question:June cuts are days away...what will happen

Just a question ....will anyone go or will we be looking for a starting tackle or just backups?? I would have to think DLo may be safe for now(god bless him and his family) and it seems that the front office is happy with the Chandler/Bell combination. Opinions on what may come down......maybe no big oline signings,no more wide outs or secondary signings of any importance? Or do they do something unexpected? Let's see who has a crystal ball

A.KA. Are they really happy with the online or will they bring in the best player available because they are blowing smoke about what we have.

I think, from recalling prior Cap analysts around here, Godfrey was due to be one, but because he took a giant pay cut, that's doubtful.  I'm not sure who else we could cut and save money doing so.  We're still a couple years on Deangelo, Stewart, CJ, Olsen or Kalil being viable cuts for cap relief.

So who knows.  I do bet Gettleman will be watching the cut list like a hawk.  That's my completely useless contribution =)

I think there will be a lot of threads here screaming for us to snap up up guys (Mostly OTs followed by WR) that were cut.  Also think that a lot of guys designated as June 1 cuts have already been designated.  Aside from that I dont know that much will happen.  I believe more will happen once TC starts but that is just my .02.

After June 1st, I will get cut.  Probably on my hand or arm or somewhere.  Most players will get cut sometime after June 1st, shaving, working in the yard, or during training camp.  Maybe some of them by their wife or girlfriend.  In Michael Sam's case, boyfriend.

I do know we get about 1 million in cap space after June 1st because Smitty was  a June 1st cut.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
