2) Cam Newton (Panthers)

The number two quarterback in the division is Cam Newton. The distinguishing differences between Brees and Newton is consistency and experience, well and a Super Bowl ring. Bear with me for a moment. First, Newton is very young. He has accomplished so much in his first three seasons and he has plenty of years left to grow, mature, and improve. Second he can kill you with his legs, and he doesn’t appear to be slowing down at all. Given his recent surgery, he may just be more devastating. Newton is one of the most dangerous threats in the league because of his ability to

I'd honestly put Cam third at this point behind Ryan.

Last year not withstanding Ryan has been exceptional. I don't like him, but his numbers, as a passer and in the win column, give him a decided advantage.

I can't agree.  Ryan is really underrated on these forums, but Cam is simply better.  Cam has never had anywhere near the pass catching weapons that Ryan has enjoyed and that's not even factoring in Cam's running ability.

Lol, you know where this is going don't you?

Ryan is above average while Cam is at the threshold of great and just a stones throw from being legendary.

lol no. I can tolerate people saying scum bag poo pees being better than Cam, even if I hate it, I'm at least honest.

But Ratt Myan is NOT better than Cam. He is more accurate and I will admit that. But cam has a stronger arm, far more athletic body and shall I state the obvious? 100% better mobile QB. The highlights of the run game last year? Our quarterback. The highlights of our passing game last year? Our quarterback?

The highlights of Falcons run game last year? Not Fatt Ryan, because they ranked 32nd and it can't possibly be that bad again this year. The highlights of Falcons Pass game last year? Occasionally Fatt Myan, but really the highlight was the revelation that without Julio paired with Roddy and Gonzo, he isn't half as good as he was and him losing his HOF safety valve TE so he still will not be as good.

Could you imagine if Cam had Gonzo, Roddy AND Julio? I'd dare say he'd look rather decent.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
