I hate projected rosters this early, but here is David Newton's...

5 TE's... :lolu:

I cannot see this happening.

Ed Dickson, Olsen, Williams,

Mcniel Brokel...only one makes it imo.

Godfrey and possibly Harper will be cut. There I said it...Harper is old, bad knees and now nursing a bad toe..how much slower can he get before he is running backwards?

You said it, but I was thinking it.  I don't necessarily think that he is "old", but he was an injury liability coming in.  The thought of him suffering through an injury like turf toe all season is annoying.

I also don't believe that King stays if we stay put at WR. It's possible Lucas could surpass him for a roster spot, as horrible as it sounds to have an active roster with two undrafted FAs in your WR corps alone.

Hey, it's all about competition.  If you take your opportunity and prove it on the field, then why not?  Rhetorical of course.

Newton needs to go back to Nascar...

5 TEs? Just lol... Godfrey stays and Boston is out (despite the coaches loving him in what little time he's been healthy)? Again, just LOL...

Joe Person also has Boston out. . . I'm thinking they are projecting him to the PUP or IR list.

Godfrey had a terrible camp. He is not quick enough at CB and the WRs have beat him like a drum. Lucas has had a great camp like Bersin and I think he is better than Underwood. It will be interesting this Friday to see who steps up.

Even with the reconstruct, $5M dead money if we cut him (max $3m cap hit to keep).

He stays...

Yep he stays. Safety and CB depth. His biggest impact imo will be on special teams with Colin Jones and Jason Williams. If Tre Boston can get healthy you will have a devastating bunch on kickoff and punt coverage.

    • No saying he mostly sucks is saying that he doesn’t suck the minority of the time.   Like if he took 17 tests and had a couple of really good showings and a handful of pretty good scores sprinkled in among the typical sub par results.   Like a golfer who went out and shot an 89.  There will be some real nice shots sprinkled in there but at the end of the day it is still 89.
    • It's worth mentioning... Game 1: Oct 11 in Raleigh. 4-3 OT win with a complete starting lineup. Game 2: Dec 13 in Philly. 4-3 SO win without Jaccob Slavin. Game 3: Dec 14 in Raleigh. 3-2 SO win with a complete starting lineup. Game 4: Apr 13 in Philly. 3-2 SO loss with the AHL roster.  Those early season games were no indication of the Canes team that finished the season. Miller and Ehlers were still trying to figure things out, Nikishin was still a work in progress and the Stankoven line was just another line. Make no mistake, the Canes team Philly will see is nothing close to what they saw at any point in the season. If the top line starts producing, Freddie stays hot and the blue line does what it does, this could be a sweep as well.
