We had another year of preason hype from Bwill, this year more than last and we are all smart enough to see the guy is really talented and athletic

All that said, will actually see the field and get opportunities to prove himself or is this just another year of hype with a guy who isn't really gonna see the field?

Also, this isn't me saying he sucks and shouldn't or w/e, just a question.

I have kinda the same feelings towards Bersin also.

What do you think?

I want to see him the in game ASAP.  I don't think his routes need to be super smooth. Half the time the TEs are just finding open holes anyways. I think G-man has every intent on letting Avant, Dickson, and maybe even Cotchery go next year and letting Williams and Bersin fill those roles. I hope we get to see them sooner than later.

i think it will depend on the week and who we're facing and the game plan. those guys are still projects and largely just high potential depth players. there are only so many active spots on the roster and you can't work in all the guys you want to see without sacrificing needs at other positions. with limited spots you have to go with what you know and experience to ensure your floor is solid. when you can manage to create some wiggle room, then you might be able to work some of these guys you'd like to see more of and get them more experience, but those opportunities that allow for wiggle room are few....esp. early in the season while you are trying to get your footing as a team.

    • All these rankings have more to do with the writers love or hate for a team.  Morgan, IMO, has done a really good job at building this team.  Yeah, there are a couple of whiffs but for the most part he has done quite well drafting and signing free agents.  22 is a bit low but it's a stupid opinion based on how little a writer knows about the Panthers.
    • When I saw that I was thinking the same thing.  If Evero does have a great season and gets hired as a head coach I wouldn't mind see McD as our DC.  If we do poorly as a team, I definitely would want him to be the front runner for HC.
    • But it's not about not upsetting a player under contract, it's about not causing a rift in the locker room. The players love Bryce, whether as a person or a player doesn't matter.  You can't spend a Top 10 pick on a QB and then still start your #1 overall pick in the last year of their contract. That act alone will cause a massive locker room rift/distraction that would be unavoidable.  Some players will question why you "wasted" a Top 10 pick on a QB you're not going to start instead of someone who can help right away.  While others will question why we are keeping Bryce around for the season when it's clear he's not the future guy at that point. It would just make for a bad start to the rookie's career while causing locker room distractions.  Again, I'd bet this has never happened in this league before with any 1st round QB, let alone the #1 overall pick, and there is a reason for it, which is that it would be epically stupid to do. And I used the Vikings as the example as they're the closest I can think of, because again, there isn't a direct comparison as nobody has ever done it because it's that dumb of an idea (no offense lol).
