Panthers take Chris Ogbonnaya off the street and put him on the roster

Agree with Frash.

Look, I defend DWill and Stew all the time, but only because it isn't their fault Hurney was an idiot. What did you expect them to do, turn down the money? But the reality is, you can find productive running backs on the street with regularity. There is absolutely no reason to invest significant resources at that position.

Hell Hurney could have at least screwed up properly.....draft Forte in the 2nd(he went 1 pick after our original 2nd) and not trade away the first.

poo imagine if he had drafted Brandon Albert 1(2 picks after Stew) and Forte 2......

Jamaal Charles also went 6 picks after we picked Godfrey.....boy don't look back on that 2008 draft....I mean yea OT/RBs were there but Hurney sure struck out nicely.

Good job captain hindsight!

    • People apparently forgot that offseason. Stafford and wife met with McVay in Mexico the offseason he moved. McVay convinced him to leave. Stafford went to the Lions and had a very emotional meeting in which he said he wanted to leave. They obliged based on his time there and the compensation offered(which included Goff). It was a very amicable split. People in Detroit still revere him to this day. He has been open about his affinity for them, as well.
    • going from High school to the pros would be incredibly easy
    • Smitty was a 3rd rounder.  I’m not really saying draft one high at all, 3rd being higher than I have in mind for this year. I am completely with the people that say ‘enough’ high picks on “weapons for Bryce”. Enough of that. Don’t want a weapon drafted early, Yet Again.  For that matter I wish we weren’t forced to address LOT because I want linebackers and big guys. And OL depth in the mid to late rounds. Maybe some late insurance at RB. A QB if the right one is begging for us to snap him up.    But looking at the WR room and believing Moore is sort of redundant or maybe even not a great fit,  and then just recalling the numerous calls for a burner, I was only really saying what I think would be the best type of addition.
