You guys know Gettleman is going to hire some old fuddy duddy that is a ground and pound defensive minded 1980's approach to football.

I said when he was hired my biggest concern was coaching hires. Whether he would be forward thinking or stick to old guard.

If we have a coaching search it would be interesting to see what direction he would go

I find it interesting that when he was first hired he said that he didn't have a list of coaches in his back pocket. That leads me to believe that he does indeed have a list of coaches in his back pocket. I wonder if he will fire Ron if we're still bad by the end of the year and one of his guys is available.

Gruden's rep as a QB guru is a total illusion.

He never developed a single young quarterback.

this unwarranted rep he's got as a QB whisperer has always gotten on my nerves.  do people really not remember his training camps?  he'd bring in like six crap quarterbacks and seemingly draw the starter's name out of a hat.

Its unfair in the aspect that you cant sub to counter their constant personnel changes because they run plays too quickly. If the umpire would stand over the ball about 3-4 extra seconds I wouldnt have near as big a problem with it.

Show me on this doll where Cam and Gus touched you in 2010.

Malzahn has absolutely no experience as a player, coordinator or head coach in the NFL.  In fact he has only been a head coach for 2 1/2 years, one at Arkansas State and one and a half at Auburn.

So if you want to say he could be an offensive coordinator in the NFL that is a stretch but not unprecedented or unheard of. But to think he could be a head coach and replace Rivera is sheer stupidity.  Look at almost any successful college coach who has transitioned to the pros and he has either played in the NFL, coached as a position coach or otherwise had some experience at this level.

I think the losing is making people here desperate to grasp at straws.

3rd down is one thing but if they randomly jump to 4 or 5 wide on 1st down after a power run and have the play called and youre out there trying to sub im dime or nickel but you dont know which one youre going with because its up to the DC..thats a disadvantage caused by not enough time to sub.

the refs give them enough time to match subs

Funny thing. I'm catching up on the Doctor Who season that I have recorded and I thought of this thread although I haven't read it.

Episode is called Mummy on the Orient Express. The "computer" is named Gus.

He blew up the train when the Doctor tried to discern who was behind engineering the affair.

So..... what does this have to do with anything, you ask. It's a good representation of my attitude about future head coach discussions while there is no, and will not be, any vacancy.

Bus or train, it will blow up in the end.
