Long drop, hopeless scramble, sack

Why does this happen so often? Cam will drop back 5 steps, survey the field, pocket collapses, cam scrambles a bit late hopelessly and losses a chunk of yards.

Are receivers taking too long to get open? Is the pocket collapsing too fast? Is Cam dropping back too far and not making decisions quick enough? Does Cam have poor pocket presence (many times he could've taken off earlier for good yardage)?

I don't know the reason but I'm sick of watching it. Do quick 3 step drop plays with slants or outs, roll cam to the right, line up out of the shotgun. Do something.

This offense is so ugly. Wilson had the exact same problems but the schemes and Wilsons' indidividua play made the difference.

And that last set after the Seahawks TD was a disgrace. I don't think Cam managed to get a single pass off. What is he thinking? Everytime at the end of a game I see this from him. Yeah, the oline is junk but let the ball go. Throw an INT. Just try something. Do nothing and lose is cowardice.

He doesn't make his mind up fast enough. He has to make the read, then throw it, run, or get down. He goes from throwing it with accuracy all over the field to looking lost in the read option. I don't think he can process everything. Lord knows Shula doesn't make it easy for him.

He looked good against Cincy which is about the only game he's actually had time to throw this year.

Both in that game and this one, he threw a nice touchdown pass that could have made the difference but simply wasn't brought down.

Leaning on a rookie KB as much as we are could work if we had a real NFL caliber OL.

When Cam decides not to throw the defense races to him. Russel Wilson keeps defenses honest with the threat of the throw, Cam rarely does that. It's frustrating because he's been killing drives with those -10 yard sacks. I don't excuse him from that just because 1 out of 10 times he gets away and makes Sports Center. When Cam was hurt you saw him trust his arm a little more. Depend on his elusiveness a little less.

There is one thing I'd like to see Cam develop. You see it in a lot of great QBs. It's that ability to cheat the defense out of some yards. Whether it's the pump fake or the hard count. You don't see Cam make those types of veteran plays. Hopefully he adds that to his game.

Cam does not trust his teammates, it's really that simple. When a QB doesn't believe in his pocket then he's not going to sit in it. If he doesn't believe his wrs are going to be in the right spot then he's not going tho throw with anticipation. His problem is that he tries too much sometimes because he puts it all on himself. He goes out and tries to win the game on every play. He just doesn't have a lot of confidence in the players around him.

    • Nobody is giving up a 4th rounder for a backup QB And anyone who needs a starter badly enough to where Bryce would then be their starter, is such a bad team that they're not giving up a pick likely to be about pick 105ish overall, instead of just dealing with a bad QB situation for a season and then drafting one in a loaded QB draft next year. I'm looking through all the teams right now and can't think of a single one that would be willing to part with anything better than a 6th rounder. Barring injuries (and excluding the Panthers), there look to be 10 teams who don't know with 100% certainty who their starting QB will be in 2027... Dolphins, Jets, Browns, Steelers, Vikings, Colts, Saints, Falcons, Cardinals, and Rams. Of those 10...  The Rams know it will be Stafford or Simpson.  The Saints more than likely will be sticking with Shough unless he takes a huge step backwards.  So neither are giving up any draft picks for Bryce right now, just wouldn't make sense for either. Down to 8 Given their current QB situation of having multiple QBs they already need to evaluate between this year, the Browns (Shedeur/Watson), Vikings (Kyler/JJ), Colts (Jones/Richardson/Leonard), and Falcons (Penix/Tua), wouldn't be giving up a 4th (or maybe any pick) to bring in another QB to muddy the waters even more. Down to 4 Dolphins just signed Willis and wouldn't want to bring in another small Alabama QB who has struggled after just dumping Tua instead of just rolling with Ewers as the backup.   That then leaves the Steelers, Cardinals, and Jets left as it's clear none of them have any idea who their 2027 could be as of right now.  But the Steelers would for sure rather just see what one of the 2 QB's they drafted in the last 2 drafts could become than give up a mid round pick for Bryce.  Same goes for the Cardinals in taking Beck this past weekend. The Jets would be the most likely team to even consider taking him on, but I think it seems very apparent right now given them rolling with Geno and now talk of bringing in Wilson to be his backup, they're punting on QB this year to draft someone next year, so why give up even a mid round pick for Bryce?
    • Honestly I am not sure Pickett couldn’t step in for him. But I don’t see a clear easy upgrade and we are not KC with Alex Smith we are a team that hadn’t done poo for almost ten years and just made the playoffs. And looked good in the game. That stadium atmosphere on that day…. you know Tepper ate that poo up. Not one drink has been thrown in a while.  You had better make sure if you replaced him after that that you had a sure fire upgrade.
    • Makes sense. If Bryce is ass this year, we are probably drafting our new QB next draft and sitting him behind Bryce for a year
