No longer a conspiracy

I give you that about the staff... I was unhappy about that when it went down. He should've fired Rivera when he was hired. Knute Rockne's corpse wouldve taken last season's team to where they went, and possibly further.

That being said, what we're seeing now is less about coaching and more about personnel.

I'm not going to disagree at all with the OLine looking like a pile of poo. At face value, they're already bad, but we knew since the 2011 season how bad the cap was going to get at this point. Yea, teams that are tipping the cap ceiling have more often than not been able to clear a lot of cash, but that's mostly because those teams don't sign everybody to backloaded contracts with a poo ton of guaranteed money like Hurney did. Those are probably the worst kinds of contracts you can write up.

It's time to stop calling it a conspiracy. Gettleman sabotaged Cam this season. He had both the opportunity and motive. And if he didn't sabotage him then he's extremely incompetent. He even succeeded in turning myself, one of Cam's biggest supporters against him. This team will go nowhere as long as Dave Gettleman is our GM.

I think he just wants draft picks. With gross retiring and other players taking big contracts he took the cheap route on FAs and completely ignored the oline. I believed in rivera and i think he should be held accountable not jus for the record but the way he handled this. For one Rivera never spoke out about steve and even had a hand in the matter, regardless of money how to u jus let a guy like him go, we needed the leadership especially with gross gone there was no one left other than steve. Not to mention for being "riverboat ron" he sure as hell dont take many gambles. Or is that jus shula, who else needs to go. This team has no heart left. I believed in this team and its Coaching staff sadly enough, and what a dud that has turned out to be. But oh well every other game we have ill watch hopelessly of a win. But seriously some changes have to be made next year or im gonna wig out!

I left the possibly of incompetence, don't know why you guys are forgetting that part.

Precisely. Either Gettleman truly believed this would be a good offensive line and WR corps or he had some other reason to make such bad decisions. Either one is awful.

Dumb post by OP ... I understand you are probably upset about tonight like most of us, but no GM in their right mind would do that. It is a high pressure high stakes job and they don't have time to fugg around like that

1. It starts with Shula. It was a gamble promoting him. We gambled and failed, and now we gotta cut our losses. The man has no imagination whatsoever, but we mistakenly attributed Cam's early success to his relationship witu Shula and wanted to build on that success. However, Cam's success was a result of Chud's playcalling all along. The deep balls and medium - long range passes have effectively left with Chud. Our long passes are terrible the past 2 years.

2. Cam has regressed, straight up. He is not making the the throws he made as a rookie. I have no idea wtf he sees out there on most of his throws. Even most of his completed passes are not the best throws. I don't know what happened to him.

3. Oline can be better, but they are not the reason Cam is getting drilled every other play. It is Cam's poor decisions, combined with Shula's schemes, or lack there of, that are getting Cam hit/sacked.

4. We need a running back. I'd may be keep stew if he stays healthy, but everyone else in the backfield needs to go. We need a RB that can block and pick up blitzes

I go where cam goes. If someone personally sabotages this franchise, i can no longer root for them. How can you root for a team that isn't dedicated to winning? Wherever Cam goes, i go.

How can the fuging owner not see this, oh right he sleeps during games.

I'll take it one step further. This franchise won't be Sh!T until Jerry Richardson sells.

This 'conspiracy' talk is as ridiculous as it ever was. Gettleman took the exact same approach as he did the last offseason, but it's gone as badly as it went good last year. Add in the same lame OC that was there for the final 8 games of anemic offense last year, Hardy and the front 7 completely disappearing and leaving the secondary completely exposed,, and the abysmal OL and you have the recipe for the BS on the field.

I will say it is still amazing how bad this OL is and that they thought this would work, but who would have said before the season that even Kalil would be horrible. I will call the OL a failure on the part of the front office, but the rest was a gamble of the same sort as last year and this time they lost.

I will also say that I advocated giving Rivera a small raise and a 2 yr. 'prove it' type of extension rather than what he got because I wasn't sold. The FO should take some heat for that as well, as it was blatantly obvious that last year's team overachieved to some degree.

    • That's why I said stats aside. I lived in CO during Allen's college career and didn't have kids at the time so I watched most of his games. Bruh, I'm telling you. Balls just spraying all over the place. The type of throws where you're honestly trying to figure out who he was even trying to throw that one too. It was crazy. Richardson was inaccurate in college but at least you could tell who he was trying to throw it too. He threw a lot of early in the game Cam Newton type balls where it seemed like he was just a little too amped up and everything was a few feet high.
    • A lot can change over the next week, but here is my best 53-man roster (note: I'm just basing this on guys on the 90 man roster currently). Obviously there could be trades/ waiver claims/ FA signings.   Offense (25) QB (2): Bryce Young, Andy Dalton RB (3): Chuba Hubbard, Rico Dowdle, Trevor Etienne TE (4): Tommy Tremble, JT Sanders, Mitchell Evans, James Mitchell WR (7): Tetoria McMillan, Xavier Legette, Adam Theilen, Jalen Coker, Hunter Renfrow, Jimmy Horn, Brycen Tremayne  OL (9): Ikem Ekwonu, Damien Lewis, Austin Corbett, Robert Hunt, Taylor Moton, Cade Mays, Chandler Zavala, Brady Christensen, Yosh Nijman    Defense (25) DL (6): Derrick Brown, Bobby Brown, Ashawn Robinson, Tershawn Wharton, Sam Roberts, Cam Jackson OLB (5): DJ Wonnum, Pat Jones, Nic Scourton, Princely Umanmielen, Thomas Incoom  ILB (5): Trevin Wallace, Christian Rozeboom, Krys Barnes, Jon Rattigen, Claudin Cherelus S (4): Trevon Moehrig, Demani Richardson, Lathan Ransom, Nick Scott  CB (5): Jaycee Horn, Mike Jackson, Chau Smith-Wade, Corey Thornton, Shemar Bartholomew    ST (3): LS: JJ Jansen  P: Sam Martin  K: Matthew Wright    Would like to hear everyone's thoughts
    • He was a more accurate passer at 56.2%. That's what I mean. Even by outlier standards, this dude was inaccurate. Closest I can recall to something like that would have been one of those GT QB's like Reggie Ball. Career 48.6% passer.
