My 4 year old was jeered by another 4 year old for wearing a Panther jacket this AM

Well, i was going to repress this story, but today's events kind of justify it.  I was dropping my youngest off at daycare this morning.  He was wearing his Panther coat like he does everyday its cold.  We walk into the room and this little girl yells "Boo Panthers! We hate the Panthers!".  He looked at me with the sads.  The teacher said her parents are Packer fans.

I give you, the state of the franchise.

I went to Chipotle to grab lunch yesterday...

Dude is putting my lettuce on my burrito bowl and looks up to ask what else I want and sees my hat... just start shaking his head.

He says "I don't want to talk about the Panthers... do you?"

I said, "Nope"

He smiles that same dejected smile all true Panthers fans have mastered.

Here's to you Chipotle guy.

So I'm checking out at Wal-Mart and I'm talking to the cashier, who is a friend, about the Panthers loss this Sunday. I was telling him how the last few minutes played out and a cute asian woman popped up behind me and finished the rest and added her own input.

Needless to say, I fell in love.

I've had to woosah plenty of times due to the Panthers.  Most recently wore a Cam jersey the other week and some random dude felt some kind of way about Cam.  I was at work so I couldn't accost him the way I wanted to.  He was a Raiders fan.  Leave that team in Oakland.  I'm a grown man though, sorry your 4 year old had to go through that

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
