Ernie Accorsi hired again

Remember when JR hired him to consult on our next GM hire and we ended up choosing between two guys from the Giants organization? There was a younger guy that was good with the salary cap and an older guy that did mostly player evaluations IIRC. We took the older guy and have won a division title every year since.

Well now the Chicago Bears have hired Ernie Accorsi to consult on their next GM hire. I wonder if Ernie's going to steer them toward the younger guy we didn't choose. If they do choose him, it will be interesting to compare his GM capabilities to Dave Gettleman over the next few years.

FYI/FWIW: Not sure if he had the title before/at the time of GMan's hiring here, but Mark Ross is VP of Player Evaluation at the Giants.

He didn't.

They promoted him because they know he gets a lot of attention.

They have 2 Super Bowls since 2007. I'm going to go out on a limb and say they are definitely not jealous of us.

How have they looked the past few seasons?

Better history? Sure.

Better right now? Not so much.

    • Yes message boards will always include that sort of stuff… However, this place has been a cess pool since the team took Bryce Young over CJ Stroud. It becomes a problem when it is accepted and promoted, which it has been here (even by at least one mod). Many posters sole purpose on this board is to try to dunk on others for having different opinions. We just had one write a novella on how talking about Bryce Young’s game winning drives “needs to stop”…after a win. They don’t want real conversation. It “needs to stop”. There are many posters here who literally only show up after losses to dead thread and try to dunk on others about the QB (MRenshaw is an easy example). I really don’t see much of that happening the other way around. There’s too many people that would rather the team be bad so they can feel justified for constant doom and gloom and negative opinions. It’s been pointed out by many over the past couple years. This just isn’t a place to have football discussions anymore because of the constant hyperbole. If you don’t subscribe to “Bryce Young is the worst QB ever who can’t throw the ball further than 5 yards and is the reason why we lose any game we lose and doesn’t help in any game we win”, then you are labeled a Bryce Young Stan.
    • if you believe he is watching every NFL game.....every week.....go right ahead.  I get it, he said something you like.  But that's like believing the talking heads on the ESPN shows are watching all the games.  You think Stephen A is watching the Panthers every Sunday too?  If Stephen A needs to go on First Take he certainly can pretend like he has watched every snap any player on the roster has taken lol.   No one is that isn't a Panther fan has been watching the 9-25 career go down every Sunday.  Or even a lot of Sunday's.  You know who knows more about Bryce Young than Long? The collective huddle.  What they are reviewing is stat sheets, highlights and in summaries.  It's an old formula lol.
