Panthers have no shot against the Legion of Boom

SEAHAWKS (-10¹/₂) over Panthers; Under 39¹/₂: The defending champs fiddled around for the first couple of months, but at the end of the season the Seahawks rediscovered their identity. In the final six games, all wins, the Legion of Boom defense gave up 3, 3, 14, 7, 6 and 6 points. Who’d they play in that span? The Niners twice, the Cardinals twice (once with Drew Stanton at QB), the Eagles and Rams.

All credit to the Panthers for winning their last four to get to 7-8-1 and steal the division title. Ryan Lindley couldn’t make them pay for their mistakes last week, but Russell Wilson and the LOB will, for sure.

Seahawks, 27-10

Might as well pack and go home?

You do realize that if they were playing Atlanta instead of Carolina we'd be saying the exact same thing. Its not a slight to the panthers, just reality of a really good team playing a good-average team AT HOME.

Its ok. The panthers can win this game, but no one will be surprised if they don't, that's all.

Uh, you really think they would be saying the same thing about Julio Jones Roddy White and Matt Ryan?

C'mon man...

We're a "good-average" team, yet we're one of the final 8 alive?

Don't really see what's so outrageous about this prediction.

Our rag tag, duct taped together receiving core is at an obvious disadvantage to the best secondary in the 21st century

SEA is 27th in passing this year so does that make our secondary the Duck Tape Crew?

    • Yeah, honestly being a long-term backup is at least as much about being a good lockerroom presence and accepting your role as a supporting piece and not being a greasy wheel as much as it does about ability. Backup QB requires a completely different mindset than the starter and some guys just can't make that switch. It doesn't make them bad guys or locker room cancers or anything like that, it just makes them not what you're looking for in a long-term backup. You bring in that type of guy to compete. You don't bring in that type of guy if you're not looking for competition.
    • Im saying its Tar Heel fans who would do that. I root for all Panthers to succeed regardless but college affiliation means zero to me
    • We have some good pieces.  Enough to be competitive week to week.  Coaching seems to be improving but they’ve made it much harder on themselves than needed.  There are very good reasons to be optimistic about the future. However, I don’t trust them yet.  Wins are odd looking and mostly ugly.  Our opponents have to have a bad day for us to hang with them.  A lot of that is because we still haven’t figured out the most important position and will continue until it’s solved. I think Morgan has done a nice job in both the draft and FA so far.  He’s getting better each day he’s in that position. As far as the players listed, I’m pretty much in agreement.  XL and Bryce are not performing the way they should at this point.  I will say XL could see more success in a vertical passing attack to better utilize his speed. And as always, Fug Tepper.
