Demaryius Thomas, Dez Bryant, Torrey Smith

Cobb would be my #1 choice. Maclin a close #2 but he will want the biggest deal out there.

I think Gentleman signs Crabtree to be honest, and I can live with that. He still has upside if he stays healthy.

I want no part of Torrey Smith. Last few games I've watched, he doesn't go up and fight for the ball if contested

I have no problem with Torrey. Speed and a good deep threat. But he's not the first option and definitely shouldn't be settled with as if he's the only answer

If Demaryius signs with Carolina who would be the #1 wide receiver?

Demaryius.  KB is more suited to a #2 IMO.  If you get a guy like that, you'd want KB as a complementary WR.  We're still looking for a #1 around here(at least we fans are).  Not that KB didn't do phenomenal in the position he was thrust in to, he's just not a "true" #1 guy.

Maclin would work too, he's coming off a 1300 yard 10 TD season and is only 26.

As far as cap wise, the Panthers are looking much better for the future. We'll have a decent amount this offseason, probably around 20 million depending on what cuts we make, but then a HUGE amount of cap space opens up next offseason (~80 million). It's very easy to structure a contract so that the year 1 cap hit is low (minimum base salary and make it up with a decent signing bonus), teams do this ALL the time.

Really we can afford to sign any of these guys if we structure the contract correctly, it's just a matter of if we think they're worth the cap hit or not. I doubt we shell out a massive deal on day 1 but getting a guy in the 2nd wave for a mid-level reasonable contract is very possible.
