Since I have come to realize that the Huddle is made up of 60% lawyers I have a question......is that legal or some sort of witness tampering?

Reading some legalese...

I think it falls under - corruptly persuades a person. Which would be the case here if he paid her off to go away.

To those saying this make Hardy look worse, I'm not sure I understand.  Of course I don't understand the settlement thing either.  Without Holder showing up, the trial would have been dismissed anyway.  If anything, this makes Hardy look generous.  Yet all in all, Hardy held out for this trial through the season and was going to see it through.  If all he had to do was pay her a little bit of money and the whole thing would have been dismissed, shouldn't he have done that from the beginning?  No, this case was flat out dismissed, and Hardy gave her money, making himself look even more innocent.

Didn't think so because it does not exist. You need to brush up on North Carolina law. Greg Hardy does not have a conviction on his record for this offense. 

 

That was my question, wasn't one earlier discussions was that he had to be found innocent of the charges to have a possibility of returning as a Panther? I'm not sure if a dismissal would meet that requirement.

 

It's more of an ethical issue than a criminal one. I would hope Hardy can make amends and stay a Panther ( and play for league min) and turn his life around now. TD would be a good mentor...

 

But after 2014...I doubt JR feels like giving him a chance.

Either way, the hardy legal team clearly felt it was more beneficial to their client to pay to make her go away than to let the trial play out.

I'm one of the few Huddlers that isn't a lawyer, but I'm convinced that Greg's legal team is a bunch of morons. Not waiving the bench trial when a feminist activist judge seeks out the case was a huge mistake.

I think they could have won a jury trial easily. Now they settle and make him look guilty. They suck.
