Ted Ginn Jr could return to Panthers

I've been saying that ppl would really miss Ginn. Everyone was all about praising Philly because he was gonna be this awesome punt returner, but he couldn't hold on to the job or put up the production Ginn did.

Letting him go was a poor choice to begin with.

The Panthers could afford to match the offer from Arizona. They didn't want him to leave.

Paying him what the Cardinals did would have been a worse choice.

People shouldn't worry about this being our "FA splash," because it wouldn't be.  Ginn isn't a Target acquisition, he's Dollar Gentral guy that got overpaid.  If he comes back, it will be on the Dollar store pay scale.  That shouldn't disappoint anyone.  He's a good returner, that is serviceable as a #4-5 receiver, and is a threat when he has the ball(or when he's on the field for that matter).  His speed has to be respected.  DG knows what he's worth, and knows the role he would serve, so it's hard to imagine they stop there... if he's brought back.

Plus, I always loved to holler, "one mo' Ginn, one mo' Ginn!" every time he had the ball in his hands.  Got pretty popular in 531 while he was here.  I started hearing quite a few other people yell it when he was back for returns.

So he's worth one catch?

Domenik Hixon caught the game-winning TD against the Saints that helped win the division and a 1st Rd bye.

Ginn is two or three times as likely to drop a beautiful and perfectly thrown deep ball as he is to actually catch one.

So you wouldn't want him, at the dollar store rate, as a returner/WR 4-5?  FWIW, he dropped 3 passes that year.  68 targets, 36 receptions, 556 yards, 5 TD's, drop rate of 4.4%.  Fits said role very well, if you ask me.

It's def a possibility and I wholeheartedly want Ginn back in Charlotte. Superb #4 deep threat, adequate #3. Above all else, above. All. Else... He's a PR/KR stud. Do want.

Is he really a PR/KR stud or does he just seem that way compared to Brenton fuging Bersin? I know he was way over hyped around here as a receiver, but as a KR I didn't think he was that great either. Good, but not great or a "stud." Maybe I need to go look at his numbers and highlights.

    • I would say that seems like an odd comment from Morgan, but at the same time it's almost impossible to find a college QB declaring for the draft to have less physical ability than BY so you can assume almost anyone you bring in would be your go to QB sneak/designed run guy.
    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
