Time to cut DeAngelo Williams.

At least Fox sports says so;

In his brief time as general manager of the Carolina Panthers, Dave Gettleman has left no doubt that running an NFL team should be based on business, not emotion.

He even said as much.

"If you're emotional about your decision, you're going to really do something stupid," Gettleman said.

That attitude has helped Gettleman get the Panthers out of salary cap puirgatory from the previous regime by making players restructure their contracts. Or cut them altogether.

For example: Gettleman played hardball with linebacker Jon Beason, who wound up taking a huge pay cut before ultimately getting traded to the Giants.

Gettleman cut the franchise's all-time leading receiver last year in Steve Smith, and now he needs to do the same to DeAngelo Williams, the club's all-time leading rusher.

I love Williams, but it's ridiculous to pay him that much money at this point.

draft Gurley

It's been real D-Will but our time together has run it's course.

Yes, let's finally start correcting how this team is built only to turn around and immediately use a first round pick on a huge RB coming off a ACL injury

    • Oh I was.  But we still had great players.
    • You keep AT unless he WANTS to get traded to a contender during the season.  He's valuable, TET, XL, and Coker need to learn how to be PROFESSIONALS on game day, practice, and the off-season.  That's what you get from AT.  ADDITIONALLY, he is clutch.  He is steady.  At is that savvy vet who will always flash. I really think they keep 7 WR's if Brycen can operate on special teams.  Week 1 you may see us heavy on WR and OL because of the massive amount of injuries across the league.  Renfrow may even be cool starting on the PS since he lives close and wouldn't need to uproot his family.  You can still make nearly 400K as a vested veteran on an NFL practice squad.  You see more veterans hanging around since the age limit was lifted. I think the 1st 53 and PS looks like so...... Offense: (25) QB (2) Young / Dalton RB (3) Chuba/Rico/Etienee WR (7) T-Mac/XL/AT/Coaker/Renfrow/JHjr/Brycen TE (3) Tremble/Sanders/Evans OL (10) Icky/Lewis/Corbett/Hunt/Moten/Brady/Mayes/Yosh/Zavala/Kingston Defense: (25) DL: (6) Brown/Robinson/Turk/Bobby B/Cam Jackson/Sam Roberts OLB: (5) Wonnom/PJ2/NicSic/Princely/Incoon ILB: (5) Rozeboom/TW/Windmon/Cherelus/Bam CB: (5) Horn/MJ/CSW/Thorton/Evans S: (4) Tre'Mo/Ransom/Demani/Scott Specialists: (3) JJ/Fitz/Martin Last spot: Right now I have it as a toss up between DJ Johnson and Bam.  Until NicSic can come back we need an extra edge.  Do we utilize TW more as a blitzer from the middle to keep Bam safe?  I'm not worried about DJJ getting picked up from another team, a little more concerned with Bam. Practice Squad: DavidMoore/JamesMitchell/JacolbyGeorge/Tuttle/Crumdley/Ray/DJJohnson/Kantra/Carter/Blacksheer/ Wright/KrysBarnes/MichaelReid/Safety pick up/RB pick up/QB pick up
