I'm not so sure. The coaches and players really seem to like Roman Harper. We fans can see the plays he misses, but we can't tell all of the right he does by getting our young guys in position and being a vocal leader.

Harper may be our stop gap for one more year.

Harper is good in some situations but I can't see them being happy with him out there in the dime.

Since it seems Morgan has somewhat of a market for himself, I've asterisked him.

One thing I like is that it seems we're taking care of guys who were on the team and we know what they can give us.  Now we can start to iron things out with outside FAs moving forward.

Bersin is a good WR. What is the harm in signing him to a cheap one year deal? He will likely compete for a last on the depth chart WR spot. No big deal. The man has very sure hands and is a good possession receiver. No need to hate on  him because he was thrown in to return kicks last year because we had no other options. I can promise you he will never be asked to return kicks again. Just catch passes. And he can do that really well.

The problem is separation and slowness.

Good thread.

I've been out all day and wanted to see all the moves that were made today.

Much appreciated.

Thanks man.

It may be quiet for the next day on our front but you never know.  I'll try to stay on top of it around work.

I like Bersin the WR. He may have the best hands outside of Olsen. We need a possession receiver and he fits that. Is he a #2? No. Are teams gonna focus on him on 3rd and 7? Probably not, but that's where he helps. As long as it's not a WR screen for goodness sake.

    • Pretty sure that a QB contract payday is all the competition any QB in this league needs, I don't think a competent backup is going to make them play any harder when the current situation wouldn't warrant the contract extension yet anyways. Your opening point in this post is also the problem, "Bryce has shown signs of improving", but that's still all he's shown, and he's only showing that because of just how bad he was to start his career. If he played like last season from the beginning and never improved one bit, then I actually think more fans would be ready to move on from him, which is what's weird.  It's like going from one of the biggest draft busts of all time into the 25th best QB in the league over 3 years means he deserves a long term $40+ million a year contract extension. Improvement shouldn't be the goal when the result of said improvement is still bottom of the league levels.
    • Yeah, but we've seen him do it. Just not often. I think that's the reason for the taller WRs. Would likely be a problem finding someone like Jimmy Horn in the mess.
    • And the Rams, Seattle, Patriots, Green Bay, Jaguars and the Bills who all made the playoffs and in case you forgot, Seattle and the Patriots played in the SB. By any measure, that's pretty brutal.
