Bill Voth dropping knowledge, perspective and some clarity for the cliff jumpers

You missed my point. I said we drafted Kug in a later round so trading a late round pick for Marshall would basically be like us trading a player like Kugbilla for him

Your point wasn't good though.

It didn't deserve a good retort.

Big Play Bene begs to differ. Let's not judge Gettleman's picks after only two drafts. That's very short-sighted.

bene, tre boston, and aj klein were all selected after the third round.  gaffney was basically stolen from us in a technically legal manuever by bill belichick.  the guy never played a snap for us so he's basically a null value.

gettleman was working with five picks in 2013.  let's also not forget that we're talking about a sample size of two drafts.

I'd rather invest in a few quality players than simply having a bunch of crap at every open spot but that's just me (and other succesful NFL franchises)

Im not so sure of this crap that u speak of. All the signings we have made so far are glue guys that every team needs to be successful. Oher may not be the answer but he will do for now, slightly better than bell. And ginn well we know he upgrades the position he fills in for. And this is

Only day 2 of FA and the draft still ahead of us.

my philosophy varies significantly from Tampa's, though the fact that you think that is admittedly a pretty tragic indictment on you views. my team building philosophy is more akin to a new england, denver, or seattle's, please send the app fee there.

So you advocate for a through the draft approach to team building?

Most the Seattle New England Denver stars were drafted there.

Voth doesn't know poo. Well, I take that back. He knows more than Person and JJ...but that AINT saying much.

Voth offers arguably the consistently highest quality Panthers coverage available.

He definitely knows what he's talking about.

I will answer that for him. Of course he does.  If anyone would actually read what someone says and actually read with understanding, as opposed to reacting with hyperbole, then they would know this.

I guess I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, but I am tired of all the back and forth about perceived overreactions and taking what people say out of context in order to get a hip hip hooray from the Huddle amen choir.

He's better than all the other guys covering the team, that's for sure. Not really a compliment to him though.

The Huddle offers the best overall Panthers coverage, because there are plenty of us who follow the team religiously and know what the fug we're talking about.  Voth is privy to more information, sure, but he is basically surmising and guessing like the rest of us as to free agency and the draft.

part of what makes draft picks what they are is the value.  you can potentially net somebody who plays at a high value on a cheap contract.

brandon marshall has a reported $7.7 million cap figure on the jets' roster this year.  you're not giving up a draft pick and getting a free stud skill position player in return.

Yep.  Giving up a fifth and a 7th for Marshall, no big deal.  Taking a 7.7 mil cap hit this year, along with 8 plus for the next two years, definitely a big deal, especially when we need help in other places besides WR.

    • And don’t worry about Bryce he will be great… Peyton Manning had a horrible rookie year too 😂
    • Nothing wrong with it at all until you start telling others they are bad fans or not fans. But you are the good fan because you never say negative stuff about the team.    I did many years of that type of uninformed fanning because there really was no info and coverage like there is with the internet.    I mean, I used to go to the store and get Street and Smith’s annual football issue. That was about the extent of what you could get if you didn’t live in a big city with sportswriters covering and reporting.  There was no video to look at or replay the games and if you didn’t live in the market you could only rarely see your football team play.    TI have fanned since being a kid in the early 1960s, and as late as 1995 - ‘97 I lived in Atlanta and good luck getting more than 3 or 4 games a year on TV. No radio either. No print coverage outside of an AP recap and box unless they played Atlanta.  People today that have always had the network connection don’t know.    I wasn’t very educated about the Panthers until I finally got internet.
    • oh now that's what you call Mother Fiuggure fans the ones that always have this fierce protective shield around the team no matter if they win or lose  & to be honest there is nothing really wrong with being a Mother Fiugguer fan they just have a different meaning or sense of what a true fan really is                                                 ☺️
