Jarrett Boykin signed to 1 year deal

I'd like a receiver drafted within the first two rounds.. regardless of if Jennings signs here or not. I want a young, fast receiver to be a number 2 or number 1b to kelvin's 1a

Well we absolutely agree on that. I think it happens as well. Too much WR talent in the first couple rounds of this draft to come away empty handed. I'd be admittedly quite disappointed if we don't invest another early pick on a receiver even tho I tend to back Gettleman and have the utmost faith in his drafting ability.

Nope because Nicks is better player.... boykins a bottom roster guy which means we still need to acquire some WR in addition to boykins. via draft or free agency.

He's so good he remains unsigned. I mean IND let Reggie Wayne go, won't they want him as a replacement considering he just played there?

Him and bersin are the same player...... nothing special.....

Except Boykin is a strong contributor on special teams while Bersin is the single worst special teams player I can recall.

If you're going to be a 4th or 5th WR on the roster, you need to contribute on special teams.  IMO, that's what this signing is.  Get stronger on special teams while also upgrading the bottom of the WR roster.

Plus, as a WR, Bersin has only caught 13 passes for 151 yards and 1 TD in his career.  Boykin caught 49 passes for 681 yards and 3 TDs  in the one season he got decent run as a WR.  Boykin has shown he has the ability to produce as a WR in the NFL.

With that said, I don't want to have to rely on him to be a major contributor.

    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
    • It was always a matter of time with Cam’s playing style and a shorter shelf life than passers that protect themselves. I suppose Cam could have still been playing in 2028 ten years after the hit took place, but he would need to have evolved as a quarterback and become more of a passer than the dual threat maestro he was. It’s sad because it makes us think of what could have been, but I do feel it was always a matter of time until all the hits took their toll.
