Update: Charles Tillman signed by Panthers (official)

If he's healthy, why not? My only issue would have been STs, but with dave fixing that no issue with a one year deal. Yes he is old, but after norman, white(some don't like him), and bene what's leftd? No one but a UDFA and a ST/WR......

Remember dayton flouance (sp) , he was a oooooold timer that looked great behind the 2013 front 7. Tillman is 2x he was.

Oh God, Rivera and his talent evaluation.

Yes, because strivers has never put together top defenses......except EVERYWHERE he has coached.

Question his eval of offensive talent if you want. But doing so with the defensive side if the ball makes you look like a fool.

Antonie Cason, and Thomas DeCoud in front of Boston and Bene.  Offensive wise, that's obvious he has no clue on that one.  Defensive wise, last year was very arguable.  It took him half a damn season to realize Cason was trash, and so was DeCoud.  And it took him half a season to realize Melvin White was not the best option too.

Both Boston and Bene were hurt and rookies who had a lot to learn so there is no way you can possibly judge whether they were ready to play and that Rivera was sitting players that are way better than the starters.

No offense, putting you out there would've been better than putting Cason out there playing 10 yards off his receiver.

Boston was a rookie, who had hernia surgery prior to camp, and then tore the scar tissue from said surgery late in camp.  You really think he was the better choice, considering he was recovering from injury, and hadn't seen the field at all?  You kind of have to go with DeCoud in that situation.

Cason wasn't in front of Bene.  Bene was the starting nickel back, then got a high ankle sprain.  That forced Godfrey into the nickel.  Nobody knew Jones would be a stud in the buffalo package, all that had to be sorted out over the course of a few weeks.

There wasn't a whole lot that could have been done with the roster we had in the secondary.  Would you have started Norman, knowing what pre-2014 looked like?  He had to earn the trust of the coaches.  A ton of people called me an idiot when I said, during camp, that Norman would be a good starter this season.  I'm sure a ton of people would have lost their poo if Norman would have been named a starter when the season began.  Who, besides Norman, did we have to play outside corner?  White, Cason, ....?  Gotta play who you have available...

Boston and Bene were not starting earlier in the season because they were injured and learning the system because they were injured in TC.

Not that hard to understand.

They got healthy and they played.

    • Been here since middle school right when it started around 2003 after the charlotte.com one. Living outside of Carolina it was tough to find good Panthers content, news or analysis. And no one to talk to about it. This place gave me a lot though I don’t often post. In the later days, I particularly Loved PhillyB’s write ups. They were fire. Too bad I go let it go. I appreciate the hell out of @MHS831 @TheSpecialJuan @Jackie Lee and others who have been posting great content and keeping this place worth coming back to. Particularly during the offseason. Appreciate y’all!
    • Nice explanation, but I was just messing with you. Thought that would be obvious. I dont have the energy to keep on trolling. Last season I compared our situation with Bryce as a potential Alex Smith, but what we should be looking for is our version of Mahomes. Some people will read that as one sentence, to me that single sentence is equivalent to a half A4 explanationf of the teams pathway forward.
    • I dont know how much of his salary would come across and how much a trade would cost but I feel Kmet would be the sort of TE Canales and Morgan would like
