1. Jaelen Strong, WR, Arizona State

2. Cedric Ogbuehi, OT, Texas A&M

3. Tre Jackson, OG, Florida State

4. Josh Robinson, RB, Mississippi State

5. Corey Robinson, OT, South Carolina

5. Jeff Heuerman, TE, Ohio State

5. Za'Darius Smith, DE, Kentucky

6. Derron Smith, S, Fresno State

I like pretty much every pick except for the TE pick in the 5th round.  The only way I'd pick a TE in this draft is if Devin Funchess from Michigan happened to drop all the way to our pick in the 3rd round (or lower).  And I don't mind a RB pick in the 4th round, but not a huge fan of Robinson.

I *DO* like the idea of making multiple picks on the OL in this draft to develop young, quality depth (and, in Ogbuehi's case, a future starter).

I give this draft a B+.

Rather have Peat like they initially had us taking. Peat and Ogbuehi would be huge in my opinion.

I hadn't considered double dipping at OT. I actually kinda like the sound of that.

I've been saying "Well if Cam had Kap's line..." for years yet am always reluctant to draft them high because it's boring. I'm disappointed in myself.

This is actually a solid draft - addresses most of the Panthers key needs except corner.  I like three picks going towards the O-Line.  Panthers won't draft a TE - they've got 3-4 on the roster already (depending on where you place Richie Brockel)

people think he's a much better athlete than he actually is.

That 40 time and his size got people opening eyes--unreasonably. He's really not that great of a player and I wouldn't want him before our 2nd rounder. Agholor is wayyy better. Strong runs poor routes and that's not something that he'll improve on  a whole lot because he just has no fluidity when he runs. He plays a lot slower than his 40 because he can't shift his hips well or move in and out of his breaks smoothly. If we go wideout in round 1 only guy outside of the top 3 I'd want is Agholor.

    • Enlighten me. What is the mind of a Bryce simp thinking?
    • I don't want Canales fired but he's definitely opened the door to a fair amount of skepticism and criticism for some things. As far as Rico Dowdle goes I was thrilled with how well he had been playing earlier in the season but I questioned the sustainability of it myself. And it was by no means the first time a lesser known RB came out of nowhere and put up great numbers. It's why the position is so plug and play now. And we see Chuba has came back down to Earth as well following a very productive season last year. And the elephant in the room is it took the Panthers having the highest paid OL in the league in order for both of them to put up the numbers that they did. In terms of the lack of running game all around right now it leads to not just a question of the gameplan and the playcalling but to a question of how do we establish the run anyway with such a pathetic passing game? I mean that's a basic building block of modern football. You pass to setup the run and vice versa. We need to see this offense with a QB who isn't Bryce Young or Andy Dalton.
    • Rico could have run for 100+. Rico is a volume RB.  He is a better RB today than Hubbard.  Not a Hubbard diss. And Dave has ensured Rico never gets his volume to go off ever since he was critical publicly of Dave Canales
