Rising and Falling in the last week

Guys that are falling or have been falling

R Gregory

J Collins

L Collins (safety)

J Strong (injury)

Guys that have been rising

P Dorsett

B Dupree

D Randell

T Gurley

Any riser from the second round could be in play for us, the same as a faller from the top half.

With speed and playmaker at the top of Gmans want list, I would think P Dorsett and D Randell would be the wildcard candidates for us in the risers and fallers.  I also think a wildcard in the second would be Maxx Williams.  Olsen and Williams on the field at the same time would be fun to watch.

I really don't look for a big man till a bit later.

What are your "I had not thought of him" picks for the first 2 rounds

Rising and falling in the media doesn't mean much of anything.

This. It actually means next to zero. The last week before the draft is always speculation being fed by scouts/team officials, hoping to get someone to drop.

Devin Smith is my guy at 25. Thats assuming cooper and parker are gone, which they should be. DGB is also my guy, but there's no way JR would allow that so I'll go with Smith. That being said, I'll honestly be fine with whoever they decide on.

The concept of guys 'rising' and 'falling' is an illusion. To think pro scouts will move someone up or down a draft board a week before the draft is crazy. All this rising and falling talk is the media catching up to the reality of where guys are supposed to be. Aside from the occasional reach, guys are going to get drafted where they are supposed to.

    • Exactly.  You let him play out next season and continue to develop Thorton.  Jackson’s earned his next contract, but his age and the risk of tying up such a large portion of the payroll at one position leads me to believe that we’ll let him walk. In all likelihood, we’ll draft another CB, or two, and bring in some journeymen to fill the roster void, between now and the start of the 2027 season.  That’ll create more balance financially across the roster enabling us to invest in other areas.
    • As far as the NFCS … I think this division will be hotly contested the next couple of years.   I am tending to pay more respect to both Atlanta and the Saints n terms of how strong they will be moving forward, than not.    I am mixed on Ryan but think they have a decent roster to start with. I don’t think he blundered hiring Stefanski. And that offense can be dangerous with a QB. Plus, defense is arrow up. No 1st round pick, WB issues will dull their effectiveness. Question is, to what degree?   I think Moore is going to be a good HC and can overcome tape that people have on Shough. They need a lot but they were playing with people. Just the way you want to see all the way to the end.    Not sure about Tampa they have Mayfield but I don’t think they can maintain their success and Bowles is not going to last much longer. They have to go through all that. Gonna be tough once it starts. Might already have started.    For us I feel pretty good about Morgan. But less so about our offense, we have some short term RB and OL issues and those things are critical given what we are working with at QB.  Overall, mixed. Like a lot of what I see but some major question marks remain.
    • Absolutely. If we are talking about a 20 year old youngster. He's a grown-ass man, and he doesn't know what his job entails or how to do it? Maybe he will be better next year! It's the Panther way.
