Avengers: Age of Ultron Review

Same here. It almost appeared like a Saturday morning cartoon (not in the good way). They should've gone with Namor. Ant-Man never interested me.

They can't do Namor.  There is something weird with their rights to that character that are still unresolved, when it comes to stuff like movies and games.

People thought Guardians would fail as well because only comic followers really knew about them, but that hit it out of the park.   I have faith, but we'll see.  The action seems kind of cool in my opinion.

I'll admit I'm not super excited though, I think Strange/Ms. Marvel/Black Panther would be better, and a bunch of others.  They really took away one of Ant-Man (Pym)'s biggest plot-lines by having Stark create Ultron in the movie and not him (like in the comis).

Finally saw it last night (long story) but I'm kind of on the side with Zod here... it was just meh to me.  It wasn't as good as the first Avengers or GotG imo.

It was good, but not great.

Too many slow parts and the plot was just so so, and Ultron as a villain didn't really do it for me.

Honestly I think they were trying a little too hard to setup the rest of the MCU in this one to make it really stand out as a great movie.

Other thoughts:

Scarlett Witch is hot... good lord they had some nice shots of her boobs.

The whole Black Widow/Banner thing seemed... idk, off?  It was kind of weird to me...

I did like the tension between Stark and Rogers... that sets up CA:3 nicely.

The visuals and CGI were excellent, but that's nothing new these days.

I did see the 3D version (not Imax) and was disappointed... will NOT see SW:TFA in 3D. The screen looked too blurry/fuzzy for my taste.

The humor was flat... Starks line to Widow about "hiding the zucchini" was not only dumb, but borderline inappropriate imo for the audience this film is attracting, and

just wasn't funny.

I liked the Vision, pretty cool character and I think that they portrayed him just about perfectly.

On a side note... the Ant Man trailer makes me think it's gonna be a dumb one... but then again, the GotG trailers didn't do much for me, and it turned out awesome so...

I kinda wish instead of getting Ant-Man and Dr. Strange movies we got a standalone Thanos Movie that showed him actually gaining possession of the 6 Infinity stones.

Like Thanos' Quest in the comics where he had to trick or defeat 6 powerful and/or intelligent beings to gain possession of the 6 stones.

I feel like that would help establish Thanos and show his power and intelligence and show what the universe is really up against in the Infinity Wars, as well as better define the powers of each individual infinity stone.

I feel like Dr Strange and Ant-Man could have easily been introduced through other Marvel films and they don't need their own movies.

I am pretty excited about Black Panther movie though. He is a badass :P

I don't agree. I'm glad those characters are getting their due. I also think having somebody like Cumberbatch is going to inject yet another swath of people into the viewerbase. Limiting their parts to just cameos and such limits the time we have to know and grow and care for them as characters, and could also even eat into time spent on the storylines in the movies on which they are cameoing in.

People had the same concerns about "iron man" and "Thor" and "The Avengers" and "GOTG" when they were all released and they have all turned out to be great moves that have helped build an excellent interconnected universe.
