Round 1: OT DJ Humphries Florida

humphries-draft-640.jpg

Prototypical LT. Needs some refinement but the ability and potential are there.

Round 2: DE Preston Smith Miss St.

Good size and athleticism. Nice depth and insurance for when Johnson leaves. Might be a stretch thinking he will still be on the board here.

Round 3: WR Justin Hardy ECU

Perfect guy to put in the slot that just knows how to get open with sure hands.

Round 4: OLB Jordan Hicks Texas

Solid career at Texas. Finished last year with like 138 tackles. Solid athlete.

Rounds 5-7 tbc.....

Good all around back. Should be able to contribute soon.

Round 5: CB Damion Swann UGA

Versatile underrated player who has some decent measurables and produced on the field.

Good potential and depth.

Round 7: WR DeAndre Smelter GT

Injury concerns but when healthy this dude is a darn good player. Very athletic.

I would love it. Smith would be a coup in the second. I think he's a candidate for our first round pick as well. Wouldn't be shocked to see us trade up a bit to get him if he starts falling in the second.

thanks. tried to make it realistic, answering our needs with quality players.

Good draft but idk about Humpries. Not only has he never played at over 300 lbs but has already had injury issues and his pro comparison have been guys who haven't done well in the NFL. I really want Gurley or trade down and acquire more picks.

    • Nope Still missing it. Let's try this a different way... You have two quarterbacks from schools that ran the same kind of offense - maybe even two from the same school - on a given team (not necessarily the Panthers). One is designated the starter while the other is named the backup. Why?
    • yeah, pretty sure boss.....when things match and fit in the NFL.....the results then show it.  and when they don't, well, the results show that as well.  Bryce doesn't fit.   *but I get why late season and wants to argue with everyone Mr. Scot has also turned into a please don't talk to me about stats guy as well.  Given, the stats that reflect offensive productivity work against all your present arguments.
    • Yeeeah...stats and rankings have zero to do with a discussion of scheme and skill set match. Maybe look up definitions of style vs ability and see if that helps. At this point, you've basically had three different people explain to you where you're wrong, but rather than addressing any of those statements, you're just resorting to straight deflection.  You don't get it. Either that or you're acting like you don't get it so that you can avoid the discussion because it's not going well for you. (that wouldn't surprise me either) 😄 Sme result either way, I suppose.
