ESPN's Analysis of Our Pick, And Why I Feel It Was The Wrong Pick

Lawdy, 8 more picks to go but for some of you the world has come crashing to an end.

Some people just never learn.

How about you shut up, and let people express their feelings freely. This was exacted to happen like last year. Everyone is not expected to agree with every decision the organization makes.

8 picks.

Lots of guys left in the second round, or Hardy, Greene, someone in the third. It wont be the 5th round. Chill.

And I'd love to believe that. There's just no proof to support the idea they will draft a wr or OT in the 2nd or 3rd. And I'm more on drafting a wr bc I believe it's easier to draft wr then it is OT. So if DG and Ron don't like an OTs and wanna wait till next year fine, just draft some wrs. And I'm sure they will draft some wrs bc we always do, just in the later rounds

Sorry, ain't gonna shut up, Mr. Internet Tough Guy.

We've made ONE pick. Out of NINE.

Your whining at this point is special-needs worthy.

Personally, I do not love the pick but I do not hate the pick.

He is going to be a damn good player and will provide value on defense and ST this season....and either be TD's replacement or give is a Chancellor type of SS.

I am glad we did not reach at OT for a guy like Clemmings....after Peat, Humphries, Scherff, and Flowers were gone, the remaining OT prospects were underwhelming.

I personally would have take Perriman at WR. But, Gett was clear that he did not view the top of this WR class as all that great. That basically once you got past the top 3-4, that the #5 was basically the same as #10. Can get the same type of WR and value later. I hope he is right and that we grab on in the next two rounds.

See we share the same opinion

I don't have a problem with the pick because the best players were gone.  People are going to judge based on needs, but Shaq is a unique talent that can become an integral part of a great defense.

Gettlemen doesn't draft need in the 1st. KB just happened to be BPA last year so he was an ideal pick. Shaq was BPA this year but doesn't necessarily fill a need. Even tho Id argue he is going to make a big enough impact when he's in there that we will view him as a necessary player by mid season.

Reaction to this pick reminds me of when the Seahawks took Bruce Irvin "too early."

If Shaq was the BPA then I have no problem with the pick. Gettlemen and company just better hope he's the BPA.

What baffles me are those that don't care that he was BPA because you have your heart dead set on one position.

Strong, Perimman, Dorsett, Smith, Fisher, Clemmons. These are the legit offensive players we could have picked. So who do you wished we would have drafted. It's easy to complain about a pick when you don't make one yourself. So you chose? Who? I'd take Shaq over all of them, (I like Smith and Dorsett tho)

Ps: anybody envying the Colts should go take a look at their messages boards. They're not happy, you know why? Because their defense is ass and Grigson picked a 4th string WR in the first round. But Grigson went BPA just like Dave did. And that's the philosophy I prefer.

Colts fans are just greedy as fug. They go from playoffs with Manning every year, bad season, wildcard, divisional round, and AFC Championship. And they're still wondering if Chuck Pagano is any good. Smh...

I like people bringing up Colts fans' reaction to the Dorsett pick as defense that we made the right one... Lol, no... They're mad because they feel like he has went overkill on offense and completely ignored defense.

That's exactly why many of us, as Panther fans, are frustrated, just flip the sides of the ball that are being addressed and neglected.

If anything, it shows these "paid experts" making the decisions that are so much smarter than us, are human and have their fault too. Grigson should've stepped down after he traded a fuging first for Richardson lol. All people are saying is, he has done everything in his power to help his QB every year. We make one significant addition each season to the offensive skill positions and declare it a success immediately. It's stupid. Give us multiple options and the competition will sift out the best for our QB, that's all were asking. We make so little moves and then force guys to be put in positions they shouldn't be... The contrast of Grigson vs GMan shows that GMs have position boners and preferences, regardless of what they say publicly. Grigson has an affinity for offense, GMan defense. The happy medium is somewhere between them...

And again, we have defense figured out. It didn't lose us games, our offense has and does. We'll see what happens the rest of the draft, but if all we do is add one reciever in the mid-rounds and then have our FO have a circle jerk presser convincing us how this guy is the greatest thing since sliced bread, I will sh*t a fuging brick.
