3 of 5 drafted rookies signed

I would think these contracts need to be inked before the players should be reporting to rookie camp.  Otherwise they are taking a huge chance they wont get injured before they get signed which could change things in a heartbeat.

There is injury protection for these camps so if they get hurt they still get paid. There really isn't any risk for drafted players.

Seems like this was the quickest we ever signed a 1st rounder, could be wrong.

There is basically nothing to negotiate since the new CBA came into effect in 2011. The only thing to talk about is whether or not there will be offsets.

Mayo lived in a tool shed for god sakes, I'll beat he was beating Dave's fugging door down to sign whatever deal he had on paper.

Um, yeah, that was in 2011. The past 3 years he lived in an apartment with another player (or players). San Marcos has been deemed one of the best small towns in the US and TXST one of the best campuses (please don't ask me for those links). You can get a pretty awesome apt in SM for 600-700/month and the rent would have been shared.

I doubt Mayo was going to wait on anything. Doesn't that smack of prima dona attitude if you hold out?

San Marcos is a fun little town.  I'm sure Mayo's been out tubing the river a few weekends haha

This is much better. Veterans should get the money. And by veterans I mean Army guys. [emoji12]

Lol. I'm in the Army. It's easy. If you got paid that much, everyone would do it. Once you reach a certain rank it ain't bad though. Definitely wouldn't encourage anyone to join now though. No more war means garrison life sucks.

Ha! I am too. And rank makes it more comfortable for sure. People might not understand what you're saying about missing war...but I 100% get it.

so you're Mayo's mom?

No. My daughter went to TXST. Graduated BA '04, MA '07. Just a huge sports fan and a TXST season ticket holder since 2005. (until I moved 200 miles away last year). :growl:

At least their games are on some form of TV now that they moved to FBS. Only got to 1 game last year. :(
