NFL on ESPN: C.Johnson NFL most over paid player

Yes, our DE made the top of the list for over paid players. We will see what transpires down the road with his contract. They say his production does not justify his pay stub. What do you all think and what will happen after this season?

He's making 20 mill this year.  Not a tremendous amount?  Huh?

You can't just look at the worst cap hit on a six year deal. It's not his fault Hurney backloaded his contract. Over the course of his contract it averages 12.5 mil a year which is pretty much in line with what premier DEs make.

They didn't watch him play they only looked at his stats and pay then said this. He was hurt and had no one playing across from him last year and even the whole D slumped a bit, but by the end of the season I remember saying to myself that he is finally playing up to his pay check. If he keeps that up all season the 20 mil would be worth it.

You may have a point though I think he's played more like a 10mil per yr guy.

lol @ anyone that thinks he isn't vastly overpaid. this will be the last of the hurney blunders that we have to maneuver around.

He certainly benefitted from an artifically-inflated market when he hit FA, but I think the real crime was the awful structure moreso than the salary itself.

    • I feel like we are running out of time on dodging this bullet.  It will be us within 5 years or less imo.
    • Brother, I don't have a clue about what to watch, Ive been victim to too many "reality TV" scams. Bear Grylls was the last straw for me.... wait a second I did watch early pawn stars for about 6 full seasons. That slop 90 Day Fiance, Temptation Island, and marriage at first sight shows should be banned. Total trash that get insane ratings.  The last series I watched with GREAT joy and excitement was the first Dexter series on showtime. They do not make any TV movie slop for me in the last 20 or so years. New Dexter was a complete joke. Besides having one gem hidden each year, example I liked dune..... but Im a Syfy junkie.  Hell recently Im on the wine mom schedule with murder shows Forensic Files, dateline, any murder shows copies. My TV/movies knowledge is 20 years ago when history channel had Modern Marvels, MTV played music videos, and BET had Comic View. My gods do I miss those days... Plus Im on a terrible Habit with YouTube shorts, I need to do better...... Sucks being a old soul in this era.
    • Idk maybe. Guys like Favre, Rodgers, Brees also only having 1 kinda takes the heat off the Colts only getting 1 with Manning. And none of those QBs had to deal with the Pats dynasty or Steelers/Ravens mini-dynasties (no they are not dynasties but both those teams were in the mix pretty much every year in the AFC and both won 2 SBs in Manning’s career). Honestly think if the Manning Colts were in the NFC they’d have won 2-3.   An elite QB is a big deal but you still have to build a team around them. They could’ve been like the Dolphins with Marino.
